Tips for making sigs/gfx on PS:

  • Cut out your own player use the pen tool for best results
  • First thing I always do is duplicate the player layer the Image > Adjustments > Desaturate. Then I play with the layer effect. 'Overlay' and 'Soft Light' are my favourites.
  • Get your BG decided upon early and roll with it
  • Stick to 2-3 colours on your sig. Don't do more it's too messy.
  • Give a lighting source by the head use a soft white brush on a new layer.
  • Can also use alternative lighting sources with the other main colours. Best layer effects for these are 'screen' and 'lighten'.
  • Play with the opacity of your layers!
  • Download new fonts from DaFont
  • Utilize layers with layer effects as clipping masks on your text to give it different looks
  • Play around! Once you think you're done you're probably not so mess around with several different paths
  • Use folders for your layers if you want to take the design in different directions or to group things so there is less clutter in your layer pane
  • Use PS. It is superior.

I'm sure there is more, and better, tips I can give but that's all I can think of atm.

PSD Files:

Here are a lot of my sig .psd files from S66 sigs I have made. Don't copy them they are for LEARNING purposes only to show you how I roll. Feel free to use the player cut-outs if desired.
