ECN “Editor’s opinion – current state of VHL/VHLM”

This post will feature our Chief editor Frostbeard and his view on the situation in VHL/VHLM currently. 

First of all, can we all agree that Recruitment staff is doing a hell of a job to promote our league and actually get new blood in? There seem to be at least 3 or 4 new members every day and it is showing that our recruiters are doing their job well. There is always a question of how to make these members more involved when there are playoffs happening, how to make them not quit VHL because for 2 weeks there is nothing for them to do. 

-    Maybe we should think about a new simmer that would be delegated to make a non-team prospects game or 3 game tournament to get players more interested and engaged? A game is simulated every 2 days so you can have 4 or if you stretch it out even more 6 days of games for younglings that join the league. Nothing major, just something to keep them interesting before the draft.

Secondly, I believe that all GM’s currently in their positions are doing a great job – it is awesome to see VHLM GM’s engaged in playoff talks and introductions to new players. Added to that, activity from VHL GM’s, as the Draft is coming soon, has shown an increase and many players are receiving their “Pre-draft” interviews. Amazing work by all involved!

Are quality of Media spots and VHL articles getting better or are there just more of them?

I do believe it is a bit of both – you have more players coming in and more of them seem to like writing about interesting and relevant information to VHL/VHLM. There do seem to be a lot less of troll posts about nothing. And added to that – older members seem to be showing their skill as well – VSN’s quality increase for the past few weeks is probably influencing more people to publish articles that are better written and can compare to the official VSN.

In the end – it is truly nice to see so many new faces join the league and be active around here, it is good to see that individuals who don’t belong in this environment are asked to leave and it is truly amazing to see all Commissioners involved into conversations – it seems that there is a genuine interest in making this league a better place for everyone!
