I'm guessing you mean Barry Sanders. Not that I was around back then for Barry's retirement but I agree with you. The only surprises I can rank up with this one from my 13 years following the NFL are Patrick Willis' retirement and the Giants beating the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl. With Gronk there was talk of it for a couple offseasons now, he's had so many injuries that it made definite sense. Luck's decision feels entirely out of left field, sounds like he's really committed to not going through another arduous injury recovery process like he did with his shoulder in 2015-17.
