Sade Taika is a hockey player with a dynamic skill set and has great eye for finding the right pass. She is definitely an undersized, but where she lacks in physical strength and size she makes it up with electrifying speed. This makes her very hard to contain in the modern era of hockey. Taika is also known for being a great locker room personality who gets along with almost anyone.

 

She boasted an excellent +/- in the Finnish Jr. league last season and helped her team Tampere Kivikirves to win the championship in quite easy fashion. While she didn't rack up any rewards of her own she showed great skill all year long and especially during the playoffs.

Her younger brother also plays in Kivikirves and is regarded as the more talented of the two.

 

Strengths:

 

Speed: You will she her coming, but you won't be able to do nothing about it. Taika owns jaw-dropping speed that she uses well to get into the offensive zone with ease and can be regarded as a threat on breakaways. 

 

Passing: Primarily a playmaker, Taika relies on her hockey IQ and has the ability to dictate the pace of the game with the puck. She should be put in a line with a natural goalscorer making for an excellent point producing unit. She is also well-known for her nearly magical long-range saucer passes. 

 

Maturity: Has the ability to stay cool and collected in any situation. There is no record of Taika ever fighting on ice and she rarely takes any unnecessary penalties either. Can be seen as future captaincy material if she continues developing as a player.

 

Weaknesses:

 

Size/Strength: Undersized Taika avoids physical side of the game as much as possible and often depends on smart poke checking over body checks and other contact play. This is easily weakest part of her game and might come haunt her in the future.

 

Work Rate: While clearly talented Taika has been often criticized over her lackluster work rate, especially when it comes to own end play. She has clearly been rectifying this problem as her last junior season in Finland has went on to show she can succeed in higher level.

 

Shooting Ability: While her wrist shot is precise and has a quik release it seriously lacks power. Real problem is with her disastrous slap shot which extremely inaccurate, usually missing the net completely. Maybe the right shooting coach will help her rectify this problem in the future.

 

Overall:

 

Well-rounded speeder who shows great patience with the puck and is not afraid of deking past defenders to try scoring herself. Owns mature, professional personality and has already showed the need to improve in the eyes of the critics. Her size will be an issue, but there is the possibility of her bulking up still. It will be interesting how she develops in the future and/or if she makes it in the next level at all.

For the basics:

 

Picture, vitals, pros, cons, summary, and conclusion are all up to snuff. Word count has been met. 

 

Content wise, I love it except for maybe this line:

It was part of bad filler that I was gonna tie in with the biography which I still haven't even got even around to.
