Welcome back to another edition of The Music of the VHL! This week we are taking a look at an up and coming team that is seeking to improve on some poor performances and return to form. Let’s take a trip to the Big Apple. 

 

New York Americans
Empire State of Mind, Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys

 

I’ve been expecting this to be quite possibly the most difficult team to choose a song. New York is an iconic location, and filled with a plethora of music to fit such a culturally diverse and significant location. We’ve decided to go with a song that embodies hope while not forgetting one’s roots. New York is still obviously a huge destination and location for players; you only need to look at the last draft to see how many big prospects were excited to head to the city. Without a doubt, they have a lot to do still, but in a few seasons, expect to see them challenging. This young American’s team has some serious potential, so keep an eye out.
