  • Robert Hagg is the worst defenseman in the NHL.
  • Now, to get onto the VHL, another season has come and gone for Davos. We had a decent year this year and the series against Malmo was very close. We have at least one player retiring and a bunch of potential free agents, so I'm not sure it'll be possible to "run it back."
  • Individually, I had a very good season - most points for a defenseman, and a good number of hits and blocked shots. I definitely think I have a shot at both the Valiq and the Labatte. I'm like 97% sure that these would be my first two individual awards, as I don't think Robin won any...although there's a slight chance he did on his last season with Riga/Cologne.
  • Still need about 20 more words...I think it's fair to say that the new playoff system has been a success. I have a feeling we'll start to see the rivalry a little bit more once teams start playing each other more often in the playoffs.

You have to have 2 of the following players in your lineup, who do you pick?

Hagg

Amac

Nick Grossman

Final season Nick Schultz

That old guy who replaced Gustaffson in the playoff series against the Rangers

Brandon Manning

"That old guy" was Hal Gill.

Of the two, I would pick MacDonald and Manning. Until the end, MacDonald was more so overpaid and overplayed than bad. Both he and Manning can at least sort of kinda pass the puck, which every defenseman has to be able to do. All the other guys on that list are "defensive defensemen" who just get caved in their own zone.

And its Grossmann...Grossmannnnn.

He cant think or process the game at an NHL level. He's the Flyers hits leader because he's always a half second/second late and hits/bumps the opposing player after theyve passed the puck. He is extremely active in the offensive zone with 0 offensive skill, forcing Gostisbehere to be the conservative player on his pairing.

He's just bad and has zero redeeming qualities, but he checks all the old, hockey guy boxes.

He's one of the leading hitters in the league the past two seasons...and have you ever seen a highlight reel hit from him? You'd think of at least one.

Hell, even Chris Stewart put someone into the bench tonight. The same Chris Stewart that has roughly 350 minutes played this year and still doesnt have a shot on goal.
