Hello VHL,

This is my first media spot in years. Yes, it is really weird for me too. The league mostly consists of newer members, who don’t know me. The older members probably don’t remember me that well or at all, as sad as that sounds. For the newer members, to quote Gustav, “I kind of recognize you as someone who was in the past” Kind of fitting quote of me. Pretty much a ghost nowadays. All I do is claim welfare and practice facility TPE. That’s why this is strange, it is very unusual. It won’t become a habit, so don’t worry.

To the point. I’ve been in the league for quite some time now. And most of that time I have spent playing for one team, HC Davos Dynamo. And from this day on, it will be the only VHL team I play for. The team I passionately love and care. Davos is the one and only franchise in my eyes. The others can come and go and do whatever they want, my loyalty is unwavering. The GM’s come and go, my loyalty is and will be unchanging. The players come and go and my loyalty remains unhinged. The league may change and my loyalty for the Purple is forever abiding. Davos now and forever!

I live,
I bleed,
I breath,
I sweat,
I love,
the Purple, Davos.

The question is, why do I love Davos so much? An honest answer is, I’m not sure myself. I think after spending a lot of time in the franchise, it has grown on me, kind of. Back when my player was Valmount, I was drafted by Riga but soon after that I was traded to Davos. That was the beginning. Ever since then Davos has been a part of my VHL career. Downhills and good times.

Probably the saddest thing is, that I have never won a Cup with Davos. I’ve only won it once and it was with Helsinki out of all teams. I wish to win it one day wearing purple. Believe it or not, I was VHL GM. For one season. It wasn’t anything special, but I have experience of being a GM. Obviously, I was the GM of HC Davos Dynamo. My memory is pretty hazy, but if I had to guess I went inactive sometime after my GM’ing stint.

Just now (at the time of writing this) my last player Alvaro Jokinen, got his jersey retired by Davos. There is no bigger honor. I don’t have any proper words to truly tell how it feels. It is a seriously big moment for me, couldn’t ask for more. There was so many nice comments on the jersey retirement announcement, and all I can give back is a huge, huge thank you.
Looking at the future and what it brings, it is all Purple. I’m not going to play for any other team ever again except HC Davos Dynamo. It is going to be all purple from now on.
