Mr_Hatter 1,608
The Music of the VHLBy A. Simon-Cowell-Type Part 8 Welcome back to another edition of The Music of the VHL! The past few weeks we have been covering some of the best teams in the league. This week, we will be covering a team that is a little bit of a mystery right now, the Calgary Wranglers. Calgary Wranglers @Bushito Back In Your Head, Tegan & Sara (Cover by Ryan Adams) Going into the season, Calgary was expected to be one of the leaders in the North American concert. By the end of the regular season, they were clearly behind conference leaders Seattle, in the second tier of North American team along with Vancouver and Toronto. After trading away key players in Ylonen and Starload during the course of the season to conference rivals Vancouver and Seattle, the expectation placed upon this Calgary squad was a first round exit and the beginnings of a rebuild. This Calgary squad was not to be contained, however, and beat Vancouver in a thrilling 7 game series that saw the Wranglers past their former leading man in Starload. In the next round we saw the Wranglers swept by eventual cup champions Seattle. So what's next? The song for this week, a foot-stomping Ryan Adams cover of Calgary natives Teagan and Sara's Back in Your Head, can be interpreted as from the perspective of the Continental Cup itself. A team with the history of the Wranglers deserves, and needs to be in discussion for the cup. That is the expectation of such a franchise. As such, the cup needs to get back in the head of Calgary fans and players. So we can only hope that if Calgary does enter rebuild mode, with three S69 and S70 first round picks, that it exits it soon. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned next week for more coverage! zepheter 586
My bad I had a S66 LW that never panned out because of my inactivity. Sorry Calgary! Maybe my new defenseman will be a Wrangler under different circumstances. Edited November 5, 2019 by zepheter
