Admin Victor 10,940 Posted November 18, 2019 Admin Share Posted November 18, 2019 So this off-season I was tagged in a VHFL group as I am every off-season and when I went to check it I was shocked to find I had got the first pick yet again. Oh lucky you, you might think. Well, the weird thing is I couldn't remember the last time I didn't have back-to-back picks in a VHFL draft (i.e. didn't pick 1st or 6th which results in that). So I went back and had a look. My VHFL draft pick every season: S69: 1st S68: 1st S67: 6th S66: 6th S65: 1st S64: 6th S63: 4th S62: 6th S61: 3rd Well then. So not only have I ended up with a back-to-back pick in a VHFL draft for the past six straight seasons, this has also only not happened twice in the 9 seasons since I came back and started participating in VHFL. Isn't that insane? What are the odds? Someone tell me the odds. Not that I'm complaining. I think having back-to-back picks is the best position to be in for a snake draft, and also means I only need to pop into the thread 3 times if I have the 6th pick and 4 times if I have the 1st. It's all very convenient, just very odd and feels quite unlikely. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/72712-vhfl-what-are-the-odds/ Share on other sites
Mr_Hatter 1,608
If my quick math is correct, it's about a .0203221% chance, which is just shy of 1/5000 I think Edited November 18, 2019 by Mr_Hatter Victor 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/72712-vhfl-what-are-the-odds/#findComment-687959 Share on other sites
zepheter 586
Almost as impressive as Taylor Hall’s chances of getting a 1st overall pick in his 5/9 seasons.
