OLA VIKINGSTAD \ JUNIOR REVIEW

After growing up in Sweden, Ola had always dreamed of playing for a VHL team. Before that could be possible, he of course had to start is journey in the VHLM. And he chose to do that with the

:mis: Mississauga Hounds. :mis:

GM Gustavo Mattiaso sent Ola an email one morning asking for him to join the Hounds. Ola was weary at first, but when his good friend Kyl Olofson reached out and said that's where he was heading, Ola realized that this could also be the best place for him to be as well. He quickly told his parents, and got packed.

The Hounds flew Ola out to Mississauga and when he arrived at the OverArmour Centre, he was overwhelmed by the hospitality. Everything was so high-tech and modern, and all the staff were all willing to help. Much different to where he played and practiced in Sweden. In Sweden, Ola and his brother used to practice at a local rink, that had seen little to no maintenance in many years. He was one of the few to use it, and oh boy did he USE it.

After a week or so in Mississauga, he was finally ready to sign with them. On December 8th, 2019, Ola Vikingstad signed with the Mississauga Hounds. He was thrilled with the atmosphere in not only the locker room, but the entire city. Vikingstad was also very pleased with the potential living situation the Hounds had offered him. They were willing to pay for his housing all the while he played for the Hounds, outside of the $1,500,000 contract. Ola had never seen this much money in his life, and he made sure to send the majority of his signing bonus back home to his parents and younger brothers. Ola isn't known to be a big talker, but we got Ola to spit out a few words when we caught up with outside a coffee shop in Mississauga earlier this morning.

"I very happy to uh be join the Miss-issaga Hounds. I hope to have much success here with uh the team and maybe we win cup in due time."

Not many people get to live out there dram in such fashion, and he is clearly thrilled with the VHLM so far and hopes the rest of his career will carry on in such fashion as well.

We wish him the best of luck as well, in his up and coming career.
