Cxsquared 455
My first season is officially over. The regular season is over and the playoffs are upon us. Overall I'm really happy with how my rookie season went. I wasn't super-strong offensively but I was never built for that. My defensive numbers were good though. I managed to tie for 10th overall in +/- which I think is the highest among rookies. I was the number 1 shot blocker for Riga with 106 shots blocked. With those numbers combined I think I played my game super well for my rookie season. I did what I was built to do, which is not let pucks in our net. Now I'm looking forward to the playoffs. I think Riga stands a good chance at making a deep run. Hopefully my defensive skills can stay sharp and give us an edge on goals allowed in the playoffs. If I'm lucky I might even win a cup in my first season. That would be crazy! Looking towards next season, I'm hoping to get my offense going a little. I don't want to be a top-scoring defenseman, but I'd like to put more pucks on net and pump up my assists. If I can get more pucks in deep I'll start controlling the blue line better. But that won't be for a while and I need to concentrate on the playoffs. I just hope I can help propel my team forward. It's been a wonderful rookie season and I can't wait for the next one.
