STZ 5,388
Chad Magnum is a very interesting prospect. He is represented by a very reputable player agency, and by all standards seems to be a top end prospect. However, Magnum has failed to translate his skills and abilities into on-ice production. He only put up 25 points in his 67 games played this year. He had an incredible 149 hits, but as a first line center you would have expected him to have had more point production. His development has accelerated in the latter half of the season, but many scouts are scared of whether he will be able to take the step to the VHL and be more than a 2nd line defensive specialist. There's no questioning he is one of the hardest hitting forecheckers and an absolute force that has opponents keeping one-eye open. While his skillset would say he's a surefire top five pick, some scouts have him falling as far as the end of the first round due to his point totals in Yukon. We believe he will be a serviceable player, and we believe in the player agency above the point production. The fear is real, but we still have Magnum going in the 6-8 range. @Corco Class of S70: Mikko Lahtinen Odin Omdahl Jacques Lafontaine Iangenere Risteneen Shawn Glade Jr. Corco 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/74970-s70-prospect-card-chad-magnum/ Share on other sites
