Berocka 2,263
Season 66 Mississauga Hounds... Where are they now PART 2 By Steven Brockman I am back again with the S66 hounds and where they are now join me as I look into three interesting players today. First off, we will start with the Captain. Cody Smith @cody73 Cody Smith was the Captain of the S66 Hounds. The first captain of the team and was a leader on and off the ice. He started off extremely strong in the season but fell off a bit towards the end. So how has he gone after leaving the Hounds. Cody was drafted by the Wranglers in S66 and has played every season after 66 with them. It is hard to really compare his stats from Mississauga to Calgary as he swapped and now plays defence. The biggest stand out is the drop in TPE earning, Cody was tied neck and neck with Rayz Funk with earning most of the way through S66 however Cody now only has 529. Though it looks like Smith is slowly building confidence in the league and is still getting better each season. With most stats improving season on season. The only exceptions are Shot Blocks which were not as high in S69 and Goals, GWG and PPG were all tied in S67 & 68. It is interesting to see that the defensive side of Smith’s game has reduced whilst he has become more physical. It will be good to watch this over coming seasons if Smith becomes more physical and lets the defensive side of his game drop. Berocka Sundqvist Sundqvist has a similar story to Smith as he has changed from a Forward to a D-Man however this has only happened halfway through S69. Sundqvist was an early signing to the S66 Hounds just after the draft. He had quite a good season with the Hounds helping them in their first season to a playoffs spot. The success in S66 led Sundqvist being drafted 1st OA by the Minnesota Storm, where he helped the Storm to finish third in the season and make the finals. He scored 100 points and put up much better numbers than his season with the Hounds. That is when he got the call up from the Seattle Bears joining fellow S66 Hounds, Rayz Funk, Scott Greene and Hulk Hogan. Sundqvist put up 57 points in his rookie season, he became a lot more physical as well bulking up in the off season. This was the season where the Bears went all the way and won the Cup with Berocka being one piece of the young team. Then in s69 everything changed, his game dropped in quality and he got dropped from the team. Being made to watch each game from the bench. Sundqvist made the change to the play on the Blue line and he became a bit better. There is not an easy way to compare the two seasons, but as of writing this he has played 12 playoff games and has better numbers in everything than the 14 playoff games from last season. We will have to see how he goes in the upcoming seasons as a D-Man. Rayz Funk @Rayzor_7 The star of the Mississauga Hounds has now become the star of the Seattle Bears. Funk was expected to be drafted 1st overall in the draft but fell to 2nd and the Bears picked him up without any hesitation. Funk had not disappointed the Bears at all in his rookie season he won Rookie of the year, then in S68 he won multiple awards including the Continental Cup as well as the Daisuke Kanou Trophy, which is the Playoff MVP. Funk’s SV%, GAA and Shut Outs have improved each season as well as staying the number TPE earner in his draft, this is why Funk is the star of any team he plays for. So, there you have some interesting insights into the S66 Hounds again. Join me for part three when I feel like it.
