Cold Winters in Alaska

Far outside the normal scouting ranges of the VHL, in the state of Alaska, where the Winters can be deadly and unforgiving, hockey is one of the favourite sports of the children growing up.

There is no shortage of ice to play on as players hone their skills on ponds, lakes and rivers. Players rarely get a chance to play against teams outside their state, making it difficult to scout the elite of Alaska against their peers in other parts of the continent.

Every once in a while though, some players do excel so much that scouts do make the trip to Alaska and focus on the budding talent coming up. Lately scouts have been paying extra close attention with the hopes of procuring some up and coming talent for the S71 VHLM draft. The whispers have been growing over the past few years making the area one of the hot spots for VHL activity.

With such anticipation for this crop of prospect(s), scouts have been trying to keep any findings quiet in order to try to get everything for their own teams.

When the scouts do leave the state, they look out upon 3 towering peaks that dominate the landscape and admire the greatness the Alaska can provide.
