Wolves, Downey, Fall Short Against Seattle

Vancouver, British Columbia – After a very impressive regular season which saw the Vancouver Wolves finish first in the league they have fallen in the second round in seven games to the Seattle Bears. Second year defenseman Jeff Downey had a very good first series where he managed to put up nine assists in seven games. His torrid play would slow down a great amount in the second round as he only managed to put up one goal in six games along with no assists.

‘It was disappointing; there is no other way to put it. After such a successful regular season I thought we would have had more playoff success. I’m sure we will come back next year with an improved squad and take another run at a championship but this year felt so right, this felt like it was the year. I just got to train in the offseason and try to come back next season to have a bigger impact and get this team even further than we did this year.’

The Wolves will have a hard time repeating their success of this season next year as they will be losing their top defender Diljodh Starload to retirement.
