ThePerfectNut 563 Posted January 7, 2020 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Malmo Nighthawks Unfortunately, Malmo didn't deliver a cup for Jake Davis in his last season in the VHL. Additionally, our two star players in Joseph McWolf and Ryan Sullivan Jr are now free agents so they may leave Malmo in the off-season if they feel like their time is running out quickly. Fortunately, the team is still very young. Michael Johnson is an uprising star goaltender who is locked on his career in Malmo, the young core of Hugh Chan, Condor Adrienne and Jerry Garcia are still growing and acquiring experience. They are all lock on in Malmo as well and then young forward core of Phil Marleau, Rob Mattalex and Aleksander Rodriguez are all excited being future cornerstones of the team while following the veteran Matthew Matterazo. Malmo Prospects like Nate Wright and Markus Nygren can play in the VHL next season which could help our depth and Lucas Nygren may comeback next season after missing this season with an injury, but getting a high top quality prospect this draft would be a good move for Malmo and a d-men should be kept in mind. Hopefully, some stars players would like to come to Malmo since it's the best place to be surrounded by players who can help them perform, but if this isn't the case. This is where Aleksander Rodriguez could come trough. Before entering Free Agency, Rodriguez was near a PPG in his sophomore season, but he decided to took a step back in his career to help Malmo odds to a cUP rUn, but he didn't had that bad of a season that he was expecting. He had +40 pts playing on the second line and second line PP all year long with no extra ice time. He still shoot the puck a lot with 211 shots while almost getting 20 goals as a playmaker. He came back as a more responsible defender by blocking more shots, but his physical game took a big step back. At 188 hits to 53 only. This off-season, Rodriguez bulked up and is focused on the next big season in front of him. After getting snub from an all star spot by HHH in his sophomore season even though his all around stats was better then him by a hair. He is determined that if no stars players comes to Malmo then he will just become that star player himself hopefully. This next chapter of his career will be the most intriguing one by a mile.
