Berocka 2,263
Berocka Sundqvist Flies Under the Radar By Steven Brockman Hi I am Steven Brockman you may have read some of my previous articles about Berocka Sundqvist and other Australian Sport stars playing overseas. Well I have decided to start up a Network to help me keep track of everything and to help expand with the rise of the Australian players in overseas sports. So welcome to the 1st edition of the AOSN, the Australian Overseas Sports News. Here in the first edition I will be taking a deep dive into the Australian the started my career Berocka Sundqvist. Sundqvist has been a great player through most his career, he started off extremely strong being named as one of the up and coming players to watch. Also he was drafted #1 in the VHLM S67 Draft. However as of late it appears that maybe he is just slipping under the radar. When you look at post game interviews there is a lot of sledging between teams especially when Seattle is playing and quite a few players get called out. Player vs Player rivalry has started and it is noticeable that players on both sides of the ice are starting to rub people the wrong way. However Sundqvist seems to be staying out of all this, even though he is playing 20+ minutes a game and plays a very physical game. So it is a wonder to me why he isn't in the firing line for any criticism. Now the question is does this make Sundqvist play better or worse with the ability to slip under the radar. I believe it would probably be a personal preference with some players liking to be in the spotlight. Whilst some like to be able to focus on their own game and improving to the best of their ability. I believe that Sundqvist judging by my multiple interviews with him that he would prefer to be a silent achiever doing what he can to assist the team without drawing to much attention. This turns my attention to the upcoming season S70, Seattle are currently leading the cup finals 3-2 with Game 6 expecting to come extremely soon. Now Seattle have had two great seasons but unfortunately with all the players improving they will be demanding more and more money. Especially if they are back to back champions. Early looks into the cap situation for next season it appears that Seattle may need to make some big moves in the off-season. It is almost certain that at least two players will need to be moved off of the Bears roster but the question then is who will be moved. If Sundqvist is currently flying under the radar of the opposing players he might also fly under the radar of the opposing GMs. If that is the case it may mean that he can continue to play out his contract on the Seattle Bears. You would expect that with the success he has had after moving up from the VHLM last season that Sundqvist would not want to move, especially since he swapped positions to help out the team at the Blue Line. So only time will tell, will Sundqvist get in the firing line of the fierce competition, will he be put on the block or traded in the off season or will he just continue on doing what he has been doing and try and help Seattle become a dynasty. Well thank you for reading this first edition of the AOSN, be sure to tune in next week when we provide a wrap up on the season 69 performance and the upcoming s70 draft.
