Face of the Franchise or Face of Demise?

Another season, another disappointing year for the young winger out of Brooklyn, New York. After seemingly playing out of his mind in the S36 playoffs versus Quebec, in which he scored 6 goals including two game winners in a thrilling seven game series, it looked like Ball was finally ready to take the next step in his career. But Ball would prove Seattle wrong, as both he and Seattle would struggle throughout the season. With VHL superstar Ethan Osborne joining the Bears in the offseason, many thought Ball would thrive along with the Bears as they looked to make a push for the Continental Cup. But Ball only managed to put up 89 points in the regular season and was virtually M.I.A in the playoffs, posting only 2 goals and 3 assists in 13 games, as the Bears were booted in the second round of the playoffs by the Toronto Legion. After the devastating game 6 loss, Ball Jr. told reporters that, "Seattle fans better pray for a miracle, because with Osborne and Sound gone next season, they are relying on me to get back to the playoffs and win a cup. Good luck with that." before walking out of the arena. There has been alot of speculation that Ball is not happy with his career in a whole and while Karsten Olsen is undoubtedly the best player on the Bears, the two time captain has been looked upon to be the guy to carry Seattle's offense, which hasn't been the case these past two seasons. Rumors are out that Ball would be calling it quits after the loss to Toronto this season, but sources close say that nothing is definite at the moment. "Sebastian has been visibly frustrated with himself," says Ball's player agent. "He believes that he hasn't gotten his job done both as a player and a captain for Seattle. The organization has been talking about replacing Sebastian if in fact he does decide to retire. But nothing is written in stone and he has said countless times he wants to stay the full 8 seasons in a Bears' uniform."  Will we see the captain back in a uniform in S39 or will he hang up the skates for good after next season?
