Hextall Reunites with old teammates

Reporter: Recently a trade was made between the Minnesota Storm and the Halifax 21st. The Storm picked up 2 players that will surely add to their already impressive roster, the players being Ben Storm and Liam Rooney. The 21st got back some picks, Evan Gardner and Raiens Grasis. Now with me is Jaxx Hextall, Jaxx both of these guys were important to your run to the second round in the playoffs last year, how are you feeling to have them back with you on the ice?

 

Hextall: It's great to have some familiar faces in the locker room for me, and you know when I got here everyone was welcoming me with open arms and that helps me with my mindset when everyone is very supportive. But there is something different about having teammates that you've played a season with before, they're gonna benefit the whole team but for me it is something a little special.

 

Reporter: Good to hear that, there's also a new rookie on your team, Joe Proto, how has he been for your team?

 

Hextall: Absolutely great, he's got such a great work ethic and we do a lot of practice together on the ice. He takes shots on net and I stop as many as I can, I know that's normal for any team but with how often he comes to me and asks to practice his shot on net, even on off days I never say no, he is very committed.
