Welcome to the IIHIRN this is Nathan Walker, and I will be heading to Mississauga to start things off. I will be speaking with the new GM Berocka. @Berocka

 

Thanks for joining me Berocka.

 

{Berocka}: Hey thank you for having me, I am grateful that I could be your first guest.

 

{Nathan}: That's good to hear, I would like to start off by congratulating you for the promotion, the last time I was here you were just the AGM and now took over GustavMattias's position how does it feel?

 

{Berocka}: It feels really good I am glad that I could get the job of Hounds GM. I have so much time here that it would feel weird to give it to someone else. I just hope I can live up to expectations

 

{Nathan}: I am interested, how long do you have with the hounds? And is this your first GM/AGM position? If not with who else and how many seasons?

 

{Berocka}:So I started in S66 where I was signed to the Hounds on the Waivers, it was the Hounds first season in existence. After that season the AGM of the time RadCow got too busy with life so I was selected as the AGM by Gustav. I then stayed AGM there until I became GM of Halifax 21st for 9 days before moving back to Mississauga after Gustav got promoted to Davos. 

 

{Nathan}: I know you have like a soft spot for the Hounds, but why them if you had the spot in Halifax? 

 

{Berocka}:Halifax was extremely quiet and I had no personal connection to them. When Gustav stepped up the VHLM Commissioners reached out to me and asked if I wanted to keep doing what I was doing in Mississauga. Gustav had set up such a great culture there that they were worried an outsider could potentially ruin it. So they asked if I could come back and do it. I was only the GM of Halifax for 9 days and didn’t really have much of a team. I think that Dil has taken over well in Halifax and I couldn’t be happier being back in Mississauga.

 

{Nathan}: Interest. Okay one last question about you before I get to your team. Some people from your locker room and I believe I've heard Gustav say this, they like to say that you are racist is this true, and what's your opinion on these rumors?

 

{Berocka}: Well I am sorry to say that I am not a racist. The rumours that are circling around are just rumours, back in S67 Mississauga was not doing well and people wanted a change of management due to the lack of success. This led to Gustav trying to move the focus from himself to someone else. This is when he started the rumour that I was in fact a racist, this unfortunately caught on and is still brought up from time to time.

 

{Nathan}: Dang that's a bit rough, I'm glad we could get that cleared up. I will be back after these commercial breaks, and next up we will be talking about last season and what is to expect for this and next season.

 

{Nathan}: Welcome back, So Berocka last season you guys were fantastic, but it ended up short. Are you disappointed and what needed to be changed to help you guys out if anything?

 

{Berocka}: I am not disappointed it is the best the Hounds have ever done and getting to the Finals proved that we can be a team that goes all the way unfortunately didn’t win the last series. I think we got a bit unlucky with the draft, it wasn’t as deep as some people expected and Gustav went all in on that season. Saskatoon did extremely well and deserved to take it all. They created a monster of a team and it was one that the VHLM hadn’t seen before. I think we did well but just got out done by the better team on the day.

 

{Nathan}: I noticed about going all in and that brings me to my next topic. You guys lost a lot of key players and right now are fighting for the bottom of the league. Do you think you're able to switch this season around and if so how? And my second question is being handed the Hounds in this stage, has that ruined your confidence or do you believe if not this season you guys can bounce back in the next two seasons?

 

{Berocka}:Yeah this season is not great for us, we didn’t have a lot of picks to work with and that is okay. I have a great bunch of players as waiver signings that are all enjoying the league. Hopefully we can upset some teams at the end of the season and go from there. Moving forward though I am hoping to pick up some good talent in the next draft and compete again in S72 but we will have to see how it all pans out.

 

{Nathan}: I hope that goes well for you. I ask this with every GM so I will ask you. Out of your team or even the league this is your choice, which player have you seen the most growth and will be excited to see in the future whether that's this season or next, or if they get called up or drafted? And why?

 

{Berocka}: It would definitely have to be Gavin Harris, in a season where Defence is so rare, this man stands out. Consistently earning and flying under the radar, I would put him as a huge steal in the upcoming draft. So if anyone is listening that is a VHL GM or AGM, I would look up @BigIrish.

 

{Nathan}:Thank you it'll be exciting to see the growth, and what he can do. Okay last question I have time for. What team do you think has the chance to win the cup this season and why?

 

{Berocka}: I think it will be a two person race between Minnesota and Ottawa this season, these were the two teams who faced off in my second season in the VHLM. I was a member of the Storm and we lost so I hope this time that the Storm can pull it off, I think they have the depth needed and the star power. But time will tell on who actually wins.

 

{Nathan}: Okay thank you for joining me, I think this went great.
