I sit here and I look at 1rst 8th overall pick Jared Spaz, and I question myself pondering if his future is bright. I'm going to look at both sides of if he can rise, or be that risky bust nobody wants.

Let's start off by looking at his stats for the vhlm this season so far. It's not horrible but is it really good 54 games with 54 points, don't get me wrong it's not horrible but for the vhlm where scoring isn't as difficult, and you already have players that are over 100 points on the season with only 20 games left. So to me I would honestly have to go with He could be doing a bit better, but he is known for his inconsistency from his time in the OHL, and that could honestly set him back if he doesn't figure it out.

As it's been informed Helenski will be calling this kid up next season, as they will be losing a lot of their veterans. And to me this will be a big test for this kid as it will be big shoes to fit in, because Helenski will need prospects ready as soon as possible to get back into being a cup contender. I believe it can be done for Spaz as long as he puts in a big grind in the off-season. The kid is showing potential at times that he can be great having a hattrick in two games so far this season, and showing he can be deadly on the powerplay as he as 9 of his 28 goals have come from the power play. To me that can be a big advantage when you need it.

One thing I can say about this kid is he is an accurate shooter, as he sits second on the team with a 15.05% shooting percentage meaning, that you really don't want him to have the puck. The down side of the kid is his skating he's not a very fast skater, and his puck handling isn't very good either and I feel like that's one of the biggest thing that has hurt the kid this season on the term of scoring but it hasn't been a huge issue, and definitely is fixable for the off season.

Personally I'm still at split decision for this, but if I had to pick I would have to say I see him as being an average player at best, don't get me wrong he may have a good season or two that makes you question if he's good, but I don't think he will ever peak to being a superstar. And I could be easily proved wrong, but with everything written down on paper I really don't see a mid first round player, I more see an end of the first round, early second. A player to a team that needs that depth not superstar ability. I really hope fans don't get upset as I mean no offense by this, but its just of some of what I see.
