LastOneUp 160
MISSISSAUGA – Goals will make anyone feel better. Ask Michael Mac. Life is good for the Hounds’ 25-year-old rookie these days. Playing on the top line; a goal in regulation and another 2 points in the game before that, and five points in the last five games overall had the Canadian sensation smiling after practice Monday. “That first game against Houston,’’ Mac said when asked when it was that things turned so positive for him. He was referring to the game last month at the Garden, when he scored the Hounds’ first goal in a win. The goal came on a power play, after coach @Berocka had moved him onto the first power play unit. That goal started his hot stretch. He now has 7 goals, 12 assists in his last 19 games. Good for a point a game as a rookie. And he’s comfortable enough with the team lingo now to try and poke fun at his teammates so when he was asked about them Mac smiled and said, “Su’s got a little bit of chirping, but not much. Pratt is better.’’ Mac said he is feeling comfortable in his surroundings. He lives with his family near the Hounds’ practice rink, and he spends a lot of time away from the rink with fellow rookies. His parents came over for the Hounds’ regular season opener, but now they are back home in Hamilton, watching his games on TV. He talks to them often, via FaceTime, mostly. On the ice, @Berocka said Mac’s overall game is coming around, and he is doing the things the team needs him to do, beyond scoring. But the scoring is what makes him happiest. “Of course, I’m a forward,’’ he said. “I like to score goals. The assists have been there but I’d like to find the back of the net a bit more.’’ Berocka and DoktorFunk 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/80302-hounds-rookie-michael-macs-hot-streak-puts-a-smile-on-his-face/ Share on other sites
