Da Trifecta 1,899
Davey Almost Retired? Davey Jones was contemplating retirement over the off-season. He was feeling in a slump and hadn't practiced with the team in over a month. Despite still being able to play on the team, he felt like he needed to hang up the skates. It would take some thinking and he decided to get into contact with a few friends and see what they had thought about him wanting to retire. A few of his teammates were distraught about him even thinking about wanting to retire. Also GM Victor had got word of it and wasn't quite exactly pleased about the way he had to hear it. Victor: "Why would you even want to consider retiring? I mean your best years are ahead of you and we are on the quest for another continental cup. We have a great nucleus of players and we have been playing great hockey the past couple of years. I want to try and keep this group of players together so that we can take advantage of our chances." Davey had contacted another one of his close and personal friends, Lennox Moher. He called him and he was shocked at what he had heard. This is what he had to say..... Lennox: "You are thinking of retirement this early? Why would you even want to retire? We have been on a roll lately and we have been dominating other teams. Our best years have yet to come and you are just about to hit your prime. Don't go and throw away all the hard work that you have done so far in your young career. You have to grab the opportunity bull by it's horns and take advantage of what you have been presented with. At least finish out your contract with the Davos Dynamo and then you can revisit the thought of retirement. If I was in your shoes, I would just finish my career out and then look towards retirement when it's the right time." After Davey had gotten off the phone with Lennox, he decided the next person to contact was Thomas Landry. He knew that Landry would be against him retiring as he wanted to finish his career at the same time that Davey did. Despite having a year more experience under his belt, Tom would try to make something happen. Here is what Tom had to say.... Tom: "Davey what are you doing? Think about it long and hard and realize that we are the best team in the league. We didn't win the Continental Cup, but we have been the best team over a two year period. We have had the leagues top record and then the year before last, we won the Continental Cup. Do you really want to give up the chance to win more of them? I say you stick around for awhile and continue to rip through other teams." After these conversations with people close to him, he decided to stay. He wanted to stick around and try to win more cups to help him out. Guest Svoboda_3
Content: 3/3 513 words. It's nice top see you doing a PT here and not retiring. As for the Media Spot, everything was fine, but I would have liked to see a better ending that would have transitioned your conclusion paragraph better.Grammar: 2/2 Not bad. Small items. continental cup = Continental Cup it's = its year more experience = a year more of experience two year = two-year leagues = league's Appearance: 1/1 Overall, you didn't need to do a lot aside from a picture and a title.Overall: 6/6 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/8045-claimeddavey-jones-almost-did-what/#findComment-74504 Share on other sites
