Kyle 667
Davos Dynamo: The Organization Jenskovic Built Everybody knows the Davos Dynamo as one of the best VHL franchises league history, if not the best. But it wasn't always this way, up to Season 10 the Avangard Havoc franchise was considered the laughing stock of the league before finally relocating to Davos. The relocation was in large part to taking Tomas Jenskovic 1st overall in the Season 10 Draft, allowing Scotty Campbell to take the reigns of Avangard and moving them almost immediately upon stepping into the front office. After moving to Davos in Season 11, Jenskovic along with Devereux led the Dynamo franchise to a Continental Cup in their first season at their new home in Zurich Arena. This led to an era of Jenskovic dominance, where his peak is arguably better than any defenseman's in the history of the entire league. Jenskovic was the star of the show in Davos, being from Switzerland himself. Jenskovic and the rest of the Dynamo were consistently selling out their home games and building a fan base that is now considered one of the best in the entire league. In Season 12, Jenskovic once again proved he was truly a superstar by winning both the Mikita Trophy and the Orr Trophy (now the Beketov and Labatte Trophies). Davos continued to rise as a group and the city was eating it up at every turn, they loved and backed their new team 100% after just 2 short seasons in the city. But Season 13 would peak the new found love that the city of Davos had for their hockey team, with Jenskovic of course being at the center of attention. Season 13 once again saw the Davos Dynamo at the top of the league, winning a 2nd Continental Cup in 3 seasons. Jenskovic also won his 2nd Labatte Trophy in a row, solidifying himself as both a winner and the best defenseman in the league. With the passion for the Dynamo burning like an eternal flame in Davos and Jenskovic and Devereux being worshiped as heroes, the expectations continued to pile on for the team. Although they didn't deliver a 3rd Continental Cup in 4 seasons, Jenskovic put together possibly one of the best seasons in the history of the VHL. Jenskovic in Season 14 won his 3rd straight Labatte Trophy, a scoring title (the first time a defenseman had ever done so), and an MVP trophy. Jenskovic had solidified himself as a legend in the history of the VHL and punched his ticket to the Hall of Fame. After Season 14, it was a long but hard fall for Jenskovic who seemed to lose the passion for the game that he brought every single time he stepped on the ice. This didn't waver the love the Dynamo fans had for Tomas, though. They knew that without him, they likely wouldn't be watching the team consistently competing for Continental Cups. Jenskovic's peak was one that was short but one of the best peaks in the league's history. If Jenskovic was never taken by Avangard with the 1st overall pick, it is certainly interesting to think about where their franchise would be in terms of history and geographically. It's easy to think that Davos is perhaps the most successful franchise in the league's history, but without Jenskovic being taken by Avangard in the Season 10 Draft, we might never be making claims about how great the Davos organization really is. The Davos Dynamo are the organization that Tomas Jenskovic (in my opinion, the best defenseman in the history of the VHL) built. Without him, both the league and the city of Davos would be completely different. Being a relatively new member, I really enjoy reading/grading articles about the history of the VHL; whether it be players or, in this case, the Davos organization. Grammar: 2/2 But it wasn't always this way, up to = But, it wasn't always this way. Up to in Davos and Jenskovic and Devereux being worshiped = and Davos, Jenskovic, and Devereux being worshiped Appearance: 1/1 Looks good!
