Donald Draper has been the Assistant GM of the Yukon Rush, under GM Austin Gow, since around the middle of last season. Draper was being considered as a candidate to take over the Saskatoon Wild position, but was ultimately passed over in favor of veteran GM Slobo.

"You know, to be honest, I am actually glad I didn't get that job. After it was given to Slobo, Mr. Gow really noticed the interest that I have in becoming a GM and he has really taught me a lot," Draper said.

In recent weeks we have seen Draper acting on Mr. Gow's behalf on several occasions; making free agency claims, waiver claims, and it is even rumored that he has been playing a part in setting the lines for the Rush.

With such a fantabulous GM showing him the ropes, there is no doubt that Draper will make a great GM someday.
