With the VHLM Draft just around the corner GM’s across the board are looking for the next rising star to come from the later picks in the draft. Every year there is a kid that goes from undiscovered to making big contributions to teams, and this draft may just have many. One kid to look out for is Bobbie Cheechoo coming out of California who has a lot of promise. You watch one game of his and you can tell he’s got something special, he’s crafty with the puck, and plays with heart. It’s exactly what you look for in a young RW. While he may not have the stats of other players in his draft class you can see with a little work this kid could have a big impact on a team looking to make a deep playoff run this year. We got into contact with the draftee and asked just what he thought of the upcoming draft. Bobbie told our reporter “Well honestly I am just excited to be a part of the draft; I know there is a lot of talent this year and it’s difficult to stand out. But I know that whatever team picks me up will get a hard worker and a skater that will contribute on the ice.”

Well you can’t ask much more from a young and upcoming hockey player. We here at VHL.com look forward to seeing Bobbie Cheechoo on the ice and finding out just how he will impact the league.
