KnightRiley 72
Riley Knight Gee was drafted 32nd overall by the Prague Phantoms for the s72 VHL draft. Predicted to go In the second round Riley fell later into the draft where he got drafted after Prague made a trade to move up for him. First entering the VHLM signed by Houston bulls a couple games into the season it took him awhile to find his feet and his place on the team, playing 68 he gained 17 goals and 46 assists almost point per game. With the Houston Bulls making a run for playoffs near the end of the season Gee played a big part in it with his improvement in scoring and his defense and offensive plays. Strengths: Defense His ability to play Defense has helped the bulls win the games they had, blocking 193 shot and hitting 127 throughout the season . Being 5’10 he’s not the biggest player on the ice but doesn’t let that effect how he plays his game. He isn't scared too block shots or use his body to slow down the opposing player. Passing Gees ability to pass has been a big part of his play being able to set up his team in the offensive one in making creative plays to open up the ice and setting up his players for a shot. Defensively his passes have allowed multiple team mates to get a breakaway or to gain control of the puck with the speed and aim of the pass. Weakness: Discipline 84 penalty minutes throughout the season has cost his team goals scored on, getting frustrated and roughing or taking stupid hooking calls, swiping his stick for the puck making it easy for the player to embellish. Strength: Being a smaller player he doesn’t have the the thickness or height a lot of other Defense men have, not being able to battle in the corners against the opposing teams has lost him there pick plenty of times and getting pushed around in front of his own net has cost the team goals. Being a young player he has lots of time to work hard on his strengths, but to work harder on his weaknesses and prove he can handle it in the big leagues and be a top defencemen. Playing with the Philadelphia Reapers in the upcoming VHLM season will give him lots of opportunities to work on his weakness and grow stronger to have the ability to play with the Prague Phantoms and be a top player for there defense.
