Flames1848 11 Posted May 29, 2014 Share Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) Twenty five games in the books for Mr. McGrattan After 25 games in the VHLM for the Ottawa Lynx we will take a look at Mike McGrattans stats. After ten games on the second line he is only on sixth place in overall scoring on his team. 24 points overall with 12 assists and 12 goals. His plus / minus is -10 and and the worst worth on Ottawas VHLM team. He has taken nine more hits than he has given (41 to 50). His shooting percentage is the lowest on his team (9,68 %). Ab big problem for a second line winger with the season goal to be a good scorer. A bad start. Time to ask the young german a few questions: Q: Hey Mike. Your start doesnt look like its very good, do you agree with that? M: Yes, i am not pleased witn the outcome of my games. I try to play as hard as i can but the transition from Germany to the North American game is much harder as i thought. Q: You are playing on the second line and you are having much icetime, what is your biggest problem right now? M: Like you see in my stats my shots aren´t accurate enough. Thats what i have to work on. But biggest thing is my passing and playmaking abilty. Its not good enough. My 12 assists are much to few. I am very sad for my linemates Dylan Raseri and Andrew Erikson that i couldnt assist on their scoring more. Secondary scoring in my opinion ist one of the important things in new hockey. And that is what i have to produce. But momentary i have a stone on my shoulders. Maybe i tried to hard. Q: But in the faceoff circle you are second place on your team.... M: Yes. I think that is a very good worth for a winger. 54 percent is a good mark. In Germany i was matching up for faceoffs very early with grown and experienced players. I think that were good lessons for me and easy to transit to the north american game. Q: Do you think the Lynx are on a good way this season? M: Yes, of course. We are second place in our conference and our division. Our manager is doing a very good job and there is a very good chemistry in our locker room. We are scoring a lot of goals and are playing are very attractive style of hockey. Maybe our defense isnt as well as it could at the moment but we will work on that all season long. Maybe we can get one or two defensive mindet players to our roster until the season ends. Would be a great fit. I think our manager is working on that right now.... Q: Thank you Mike. He's definitely on the right track so far, and I really hope to see Mike tearing up the VHLM by the end of the season. Grammar: 1/2 I definitely see you're writing improving. You're still having some trouble with commas and sentance structure, but I can definitely see an improvement as far as spelling and wording goes.
