After a solid start to the season and staying in the playoff mix throughout much of the season, the Prague Phantoms fell flat during the final quarter of the season to miss the S72 post-season dance by five points having not been able to catch Davos or Moscow for the final spot. It’s a huge disappointment to the Phamily after making the playoffs the previous two seasons.

We are gutted,” lamented Slovakian winger Ondrej Ohradka. “I didn’t help the team much at all down the stretch. I’m really mad at myself that I didn’t contribute as we fought to get into the playoffs.

Indeed after a short spurt of seven points in four games, Ohradka only posted four points – all goals – in the team’s final 16 games. The Phantoms went 6-8 in the final 14 games after a six-game win streak got them in position to claim a spot in the playoffs if they finished strong. It wasn’t good enough as Davos went 8-6 and Moscow went 7-5-2. Prague finished 5th in the European Conference with a record of 32-32-8 for 72 points. Ohradka, ironically, after setting career-highs in almost every statistical category, finished 72nd in league scoring in S72 with 51 points to win the unofficial Anniversary Award.

Thanks to @DMaximus for the award,” said Ohradka with a wry grin. “I hope to be way higher in scoring next year.
