Bob has the World Cup fever

Season 72 World Cup is soon here, teams have already announced their rosters and the players are getting ready to play! As hockey fans know, World Cup is a prestigious tournament where best of the best play against each other. That makes it difficult to predict who could win it at all, but do not worry I´m here to help! To get a better idea on what is going on and what is going to happen, I asked few questions from Team World winger Jim Bob:

 

Jim, thanks for picking up the phone I know its early, but to start it off tell us a little bit about what it was like when you heard that you were selected into the Team World roster?
JB: I was pleasantly surprised, I knew I had the chance to play in some World Cup team, but to get selected into the World team is an honor. Even more so now when we all can see the names in the team.

 

Speaking of the names in the team, is it weird to play with so many superstar players?
JB: It's not weird, they are all top players, but of course there is no denying that chemistry and the gameplan is something that we all need to work on perhaps more than other teams, we are all from different countries after all, but in general everything has been great and I´m already looking forward to the start of this tournament.

 

Before the roster was announced, the VHL and many of the fans were following the S72 Brett Slobodzian Trophy Voting, now Adrienne and Jaguar are together in the same team, has that caused any problems?
JB: Not at all, we are here to play and win, everybody wants to make their home countries and fans proud. Although I must admit that when I first saw that Jet Jaguar and Condor Adrienne were in the roster, I thought to myself that it makes sense that I´m also in the roster with them, Jaguar, Adrienne and Bob, it feels right you know.

 

How do you see your role in the team?
JB: I´m one of the youngest players in the team, so I think my job is more on the defensive end, there are so many top players that getting to play in the scoring units might not be a reality just yet, but I don´t mind. Getting the chance to win the World Cup is something you don´t get to do every year and certainly not with players like this, so I´m taking any role coaches and management offer to me and try to do my best in the role.

 

To the end, how well do you think Team World will play in the World Cup, can you win it all?
JB: I think we can win the whole thing,  there are no weak points in the team and the skill level of our scoring units is unreal. More of a secret or a hidden factor that is our benefit is the fact that we are a team of the people, the whole world can watch and support our team. That makes this team a special team and we as the players feel the support, we are here to win.
