Gucci, Vegas off to a hot start

Surrounded by seemingly endless talent on the ice, Gucci hasn't had many reasons to show up to work upset since the beginning of the season.  "Everyone has been great about sharing the puck, filling in where we have voids in different roles.  I can't say that about many teams that I've been on.  Most prospects are selfish and just want to pad their stat sheets in hopes of getting drafted higher.  It doesn't feel like that at all here," Its explained to reporters on his way out of the locker room.

 

To date, while not pacing any individual statistic in the league (VHLM), Gucci has provided a complementary, well-rounded game.  A team-high 40 hits, with 16 points overall and a plus 18 rating, there has only been shot selection to complain about...  if that.  "Certainly, I'd like to see my shot percentage go up.  You see some of the more developed prospects with almost twice my clip, but I'm sure that will come with time."  Gucci has been centering the second line in most of his first year, as he continues to assimilate to the VHL's amateur league.  Although they are pursuing division leader Saskatoon to a tune of four points, Vegas has been no slouch with a league-leading +49 goal differential as of today.
