So, for this weeks theme we have to create our own “Dream Teams” consisted of 3 forwards, 2 defenseman and 1 goaltender.

In no particular order I present to you my dream team…

LW. Matt Thompson

To start off this lift I guy a monster 6 foot 5, 235lbs left winger from Vancouver, Canada. Matt Thompson, also know as “Tommy Gun” did not only excel with his insane scoring ability but was also a machine on defense. He is a 1-time VHL Champ, 1-time MVP and 4-time best Two-Way Forward in the league. He has played for 3 different teams over his 8 years in the VHL and has racked up a total of 576 games played, with 422 goals and 403 assists for a total of 825 points. What a career he has had, and that is why he is on my Dream Team.

LW. John Locke

The retired John Locke is on my list for a good reason. The 4-time Continental Champion is the best playoff performer I have seen. This man has racked up a total of 61 goals, 45 assists and 106 points in a total of 75 games. Not only does he have the most playoff points in history of the VHL, but he also has 12 game winning goals in the playoffs. Playoff performers are always the piece to winning it all, and that is why he is on my list.

C. Lukas Muller

The 5’11, 185lbs, drafted 2nd overall in S53 is what you call a player that can win it everywhere. Lukas’s career trajectory is that of a quintessential late bloomer. While he put up some respectable point totals in his first few seasons, he did not actually achieve success until his fourth season, when he broke out of his shell entirely. He has won the Cup in Season 56, 58 and 60 with Quebec, Riga and Helsinki all in respective order. This man has done it in t3 different teams, and that is why he is on my list.

D. Maxim Kovalchuk

Kovalchuk is 6 foot 6 from Russia. He is one person you will want to look up too if you want to become a defenseman in this league. In his rookie season Maxim posted 117 points in 30 games played. I have honestly never seen such a performance from not only a rookie but a Defenseman Rookie! Not only that but he is also a 2-time cup champ.

D. Adam Schultz

Let us go back in the early days of the league. Playing from season 20 to 26, Adam is a 6 foot 3 defenseman from Vancouver, Canada. Adam Schultz has, after a bit of a wait, made his way in. The first-generation player made his name before the draft with the Minot Gladiators, built on many eventual first-gen stars, with whom he won the Founder's Cup and made his way to the flailing Madrid Thunder franchise. He would go on to a career as a strong two-way blue-liner with a nose for the net and experienced his peak alongside Singh for three seasons on Davos, winning three Continental Cups in a six-season VHL career.

G. Norris Stopko

Inducted in the Class of S65, the 6 foot 8 goalie from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada created his player only to help a VHLM team but continued on into the VHL. Third in all time games played (512), fifth in all time wins (269), and first in saves (14,621) is plenty of material to get into the Hall, but throw that on top of his two continental cups. Therefore, he is the last man on my list.

Thank you for reading and share your Dream Team!
