New to the Victory Hockey League starting in Season 77, we would like to welcome the Frisco Elmos, out of the Dallas region in Northeast Texas.  As the league has seeming grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years, players have inconveniently found themselves riding the pine on 4th lines for too long.  Thus, the board of governors in the VHL has established four new franchises, one of them being in the second most populated state in the union (the greatest union).  

 

"We've been so lucky so have this opportunity to show case our lovely town of Frisco and what it has to offer with a brand new stadium.  We will have a few years to develop plans for a long-term lease of the new Sesame Stadium and further market the new franchise.  By then, we should have a really good idea on how the expansion draft will unfold.  Coaches should be selected by next year," general manager frescoelmo proposed to the VHL Board earlier this month.

 

 

Unfortunately, the VHL board only gets to approve the location of new franchises and not the names.  With the sister-league's Seattle franchise being named the Kraken as a result of a mail-in vote, pretty much everything was on the table for the forthcoming expansion teams.  "We just felt like this fit, and was a unique take on a team name.  Most teams want to sound angry or aggressive, bold or strong; we are hoping to deceive our opponents by sounding cute and cuddly," GM frescoelmo further explained to local reporters during the logo unveiling last week.
