Which Playoff Team Could Fit Robin Galante Nilsson in?

The VHLM playoffs are about to start while at the same time, new players who will be eligible for next seasons junior draft are still pouring into the league. Normally those players won't actually see playing time until they are selected by a VHLM team in the Junior Draft, but for some of them their VHLM career could start sooner as expected as some teams will be looking to use them as stopgaps to fill some holes in their rosters going into the playoffs. Could Swedish Defenseman Robin Galante-Nilsson be one of those players? Right now he is at pretty much the same developmental level as most of his peers but he has shown some progress already since announcing that he was planning to join the VHLM so could he be one of the few available short-term options that they playoff teams will take a look at, or is he still too raw? Today we will look at three teams that we believe could be possible destinations that might be able and willing to fit him in.

Ottawa Lynx

The Ottawa Lynx currently sit in 3rd Place in the Eastern Conference with just about over a point per game pace with 76 points in 70 appearances. There is quite the gap between them and the top-two teams of the Conference so it's gonna be interesting to see how competitive they can be in the postseason. Right now the Lynx are rocking a very top-heavy defensive core with strong players in Zachariah Kissliner, Jackson Philliefan and Jolly Greene Giant but almost no depth aside from those players. The only other Defenseman on their roster is Steve, a rather underdeveloped S75 Draftee. Galante-Nilsson could fit in with this team as a 3rd pairing option right away, who might even be able to challenge Steve for a spot in the Top-4 soon.

Philadelphia Reapers

The second team we want to look at are the Philadelphia Reapers who currently sit 4th in the Eastern Conference, with the lowest point count of all playoff teams at 61, and they are also currently in a tight battle with the Miami Marauders for the last playoff spot. Philadelphiy has a decent defensive corps of five players but they might be a spot available for Galante-Nilsson as the 6th D-Man here. Some of their Defensemen, while solid, haven't progressed too much lately either so depending on how the playoffs go, Galante-Nilsson could even have a chance to compete for some bigger minutes down the road.

Saskatoon Wild

Our last potential team we wanna look at are the Saskatoon Wild who, at 92 points, are also the strongest team of the bunch at least when looking at their record. Their Defense if decent but right now they only have four Defensemen signed so there could be a spot there for Galante-Nilsson on the 3rd Pairing, with bigger minutes being fairly unlikely. Unlike some of the other bubble teams however Saskatoon hasn't signed and S76 players so far, so it's doubtful that they are even interested in the Swede, or short-term solutions from the upcoming draft class in general.

Review: Good article, Nilsson has quite a few options, which is great. The Wild give you the best shot at a championship, just saying. Good paragraphs, maybe slightly shorter so it’s easier to read next time.
