After growing up as a small child in Maine, he got inspired by the close by Canadians to play hockey. At the age of five, he learned how to skate and began playing hockey. He kept growing skill-wise, physical-wise, and he learned more about the game of hockey itself. As he got older, he got for fit and his position became clearer. He was going to be a defender. He would practice every day and he was so good and practiced so much, it felt like he was an extension of the rink. He was pushed to  condition himself and to get into a physical shape where being a professional hockey player down the road was way more do-able.  He was better than most people and being a striker, but he knew that when he got into more competitive leagues, he would have to be a defender, so he stuck with being a defender. He knew he was meant for the NHL, and through practice, games, and more practice, he got to the level where his peers saw that too. When he has in college, it was hard because he had to focus on more schoolwork than in the past, but he found a way to balance hockey and schoolwork in a healthy manner. In college, he would meet many friends, but knew that he wouldn't be able to spend tons of time with them if he wanted a good grade, to improve his hockey skills, and to also get drafted. As he got closer to his senior year of high school, the more he had to focus on work, but he got more used to it. He practiced with people who would also enter the draft, and his dream became ever so close to become true. Then came the injury. He got a minor pain after. a game, nothing unusual, but it didn't get better and the more he played, the worse the pain got. He decided to sit out a few games, but it was more major than that. He twisted his ankle badly while trying to change directions too frequently and aggressively. It eventually got better, but he needed to get back to his normal skill before the draft, and quickly. He practiced like never before and played with an intensity he didn't think he could ever do. Now, approaching the draft, he feels good, but knows that he will need to improve before becoming an NHL star.
