fonziGG 1,071
What's incredible is that we're in the conference finals against another Canadian team. It's incredible to see the culture in the country at the moment. People are either supporting us or the Legion here. It's unreal how many people are lining up to watch us on Robson street. It's like crowds of people. The amount of messages we're getting from everyone as well has been nothing short but encouraging. A lot of fans have been letting me know how much they love my game and think I could be a huge part of the Wolves future. Maybe I could be. I think I'd like to owe it to these fans if they're going to treat me this way. Again, they've been nothing but supportive to me. They are an incredible fan base and while I think it could be scary for a player who's not used to a Canadian market. Don't think of Vancouver this way at all. They are incredible and supportive. I can't wait for game 5 in Vancouver in front of our home fans. We worked incredibly hard all season just for us to be Conference Champions. I know I have a bit of a limited role here but I know I'm forcing the coach to give me more minutes. I was having a conversation with my family and we were laughing about how much more minutes I've been getting as the season pushed on. I know being physical has been huge for us this season. Towards the end of the last series, I was offensively present. It was major and I think I could do that in this series again if the opportunity presents itself. I've been working on my defense since last week. This week I'm working on my puck handling abilities so I can be irritating in a creative manner. Any type of handling of the puck has been worked on including tips, dekes, skating with the puck and so much more. I've been putting in the practice on both sides of the ice as well. Chipping the puck out of the zone has been a huge piece of my game that's improved. I had a lot of icings walking into the postseason but we worked on how to effectively get the puck out of the zone without an icing being made. I think the best thing that's happened to my development to date was the fact that I came to Vancouver. The coaching staff here has been world-class for my development and I can visibly see differences in not just my play but in the other young players here in Vancouver. It's not easy to cultivate a locker room as Vancouver has in the past. Imagine having leaders like Brock, Jeff, and Jimmy in the room every single day. Always in our heads about how to improve, how to be the best, and how we should be thinking on the daily basis. They may not have the strongest history, but I think we're on the verge of having a huge future. RomanesEuntDomus 442
Really enjoyed this article even as someone not very familiar with the current playoffs, very nice write-up that was both concise and emotionally engaging. The layout wasn't flashy but it doesn't have to, it got the job done and I prefer a few longer paragraphs over chopping articles up into too many short ones. The only issue I had with this article was that the start to it was very abrupt and that it seemed to assume that the reader knows all about the general situation and circumstances already, which wasn't the case for me. Some references or short summaries of what's going on would've helped.
