Welcome to Critiquing the Crest, a weekly series of articles where I take a look at and analyze each logo of the VHL and VHLM. Today, as we await the start of the season, I will be taking a look at one of the younger teams in the VHL. A team in a historic city where at one point a majority of the world has been ruled from. Today, we will be the critiquing the crest of London United.

First off, the color scheme, as well as well as the design at the bottom of the logo, is all in reference to the "Union Jack" flag of Great Britain. A little generic, but it works well enough with the logo. Above "London" you will see a silhouette of Tower Bridge, which I will give points for including as it does bring London together and isn't actually a piece usually found on visual logos. Although I do question the need for the red star above the bridge and the dual sabres behind the main castle shaped crest. Overall, this logo is a bit one-dimensonal, while also being a bit too busy when it comes to unneeded design elements. Otherwise it does fit well for London United so with this I will give the logo a 6.5/10 rating.
