tinafrombobsburgers 375
Prospect Scouting Report Nathan Perry Nathan Perry was added very late in the season when he joined the Miami Marauders, and with no professional experience it was not the easiest transition. Perry played 26 regular season games only recording 3 points in the process of playing a 4th line role. In the 18 games that led to an eventual title with Miami; Perry recorded 0 points but while still playing limited minutes Perry become a very important and reliable checker. “Perry became a real play driver for us on that third line in the playoffs” GM Kris Rice was quoted to saying. The run into the playoffs was a huge help after a short stint to finish the regular season so Perry could focus on the finer details of the professional game, although much more to learn. Things to improve on in the upcoming season. - Number one thing has to be consistency, Perry has seemed to have a tremendous off season getting stronger and more equipped for the pro game; but he has to be able to bring it every game to be affective for Miami. - Shot; Perry will be starting this season thrust into a top 6 role on the defending champs and he will need to produce for this team to be successful. His shot needs to have a quicker release on it with everything around him moving so much quicker at this level. - Perry’s size allows him to be a presence out there and will need to use his body to control the ice a little more. Clean hits and constantly finishing his checks on the opposing defencemen will lead to costly turnovers in his favor. Positives to his game at this stage. - One thing Perry does not lack is speed. Despite his size Perry is one of the fastest players whenever he is on the ice, which allows him to forecheck so effectively. - Overall hockey sense. This term may be used a lot, but Perry does have a mind for the game and is often seeing plays develop well before his opponents. - Perry is not afraid of playing the 200-foot game. With his experience in the checking role during last year’s playoffs; Perry really rounded out his defensive game well and was never afraid of throwing himself in front of shots. The stage is set and the opportunity for Nathan Perry is ripe for the taking, if he is able to take his positives and use this full season of practice time and guidance from his peers to put it all together then look out. thadthrasher and Ricer13 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/95457-nathan-perry-scouting-report/ Share on other sites
