Even after setting the Prague Phantoms’ record for goals scored in a season and posting career-high numbers in most offensive categories in S74, the memory of being swept in the play-in round by the Helsinki Titans still has a bitter taste in Ondrej Ohradka’s mouth. Having only been to the playoffs three times in his VHL career, S75 will be the last opportunity for the Slovakian winger and many of his veteran teammates to take Prague to their first series win. The Phantoms are employing an even blend of experience and youth this season in hopes of clawing out of the European Conference to a bye and not another play-in round.

“I think we have a good shot this year,” said Ohradka after his 3-point game in a 6-3 win over Riga. “Everyone prepared with the same goal in mind – to make the playoffs. We all know the window is closing for many of us and while the future is bright for the Phantoms, we want to win now. This is our year.”
