(before i start i apologize for run on sentances etc english is not my first language but dont worry about grading different it helps me improve)

 

                                       Big Russian Defender gears up for the draft.

 

A few days ago Vladamir Komarov declared himself for the VHLM draft. The young Russian defender is a very raw prospect, combine that with the fact he is an unknown makes where he ends up in the draft a mystery.  Komarov said he would be happy wherever he ends up and despite declaring himself for the VHLM he is not very familiar with any team out there.  Despite living in Russia his whole life he never wondered out of Omsk, which means he never managed to see any of the Moscow games.  This means he is more than happy to play for any team out there and hopes he can turn into a stud defender for them. ”I want to be the best defender out there that’s been my goal since day one I won’t quit and whoever drafts him no matter the spot will get a gem” Stated Komarov a day after being declared for the draft.

 

 

As he works on his skills preparing for the draft we will try to take a stab at least what round we can here Vladamir Komarov name called. Given his unknown factor and how raw of a prospect he is it is safe to say he probably will not hear his name called in the first or even second round. However we fell just given his drive and determination he could hear his name called anywhere from the third or fourth round.  Only time will tell but given his willingness to improve we fell teams would be comfortable to draft him as a high risk/ high reward player.  This could depend on how teams feel there defense is though. If a team really feels they are set on defense, or a team feels they need to nab a high ceiling defender to solidify their back end then we may see his name called soon, or later than we predict.

 

What is the team who drafts Komarov going to get? Well any team who takes a chance on Komarov will be adding a high ceiling player. With his size, combined with his hockey IQ they are going to add a guy who has the potential to help lead there back end and log big minutes. Komarov is a hard worker and consistently in the gym which means he is in fantastic shape for a player his age.  He lacks any true offensive abilities early in his career but with his size, and strength we could see him firing cannons from the point if he can work on his shot. His biggest assets right now are he uses his size well to check opponents, and is not afraid to fight for his teammates; He is very smart in his own zone and makes smart safe plays. However he won’t jump into the play and he is at his best when paired with an offensive minded defense partner.

 

 

With the draft date unknown Komarov still has plenty of time to improve his stock as he hopes to become one of the best in his class when his name is called. He will continue to work hard till then and perhaps he can surprise everyone and hear his name called rather early. The alternative is the draft is too deep and he becomes a steal for the team that manages to nab him later in the draft. Only time will tell an when the draft is made official I’m sure you will see a happy Komarov no matter where he goes

It still needs 1 more grade to be final, but yes, the final grade gets doubled.

Nice first media spot! You're off to a great start and I can see you having a very successful career here in the VHL. Komarov seems like hes going to be a beast, and I'm excited to see how he grows in the future. If my team was competing this season, you are the kind of guy I would want representing us.

I always hating deducting points from people who aren't native to english, but unfortunately since this is an english league it would be unfair to other members if we gave special treatment. However, there are lots of people on this forum willing to proofread your work (including myself) and there is definitely no rules against getting help.

This is actually a pretty common misconception. From the rule book:

 

12.1 – Creating a Player For the First Time

Members who have created a player for the first time will have their first 3 weekly point tasks (media spot, graphic, or podcast) doubled.
