ESPN.SE - The parties are still raging in the streets of Malmo as the city celebrates the Nighthawks' inaugural Continental Cup victory in Season 75. They battled through three tough playoff matchups against some of the VHL's finest in Warsaw, Moscow and D.C. One instrumental piece of that magnificent journey to the cup, was Kanou Trophy winner, Chris Hylands. While there were arguments that could've been made for a number of players to win the trophy, the Board of Governors voted unanimously in Hylands' favour. "Receiving an award of this caliber really is an honour. Never in a million years would I have thought I would be a recipient of such a prestigious award. But the entire playoffs were a total team effort, the guys were firing on all cylinders and we really pulled together as a team and just played for each other."

There are doubts about Malmo's ability to defend their championship, but they will have eyes on another appearance in the post season and as we know, anything can happen once you're there. After the retirement of long time Captain and franchise favourite, Condor Adrienne, the Nighthawks will have to be able to rely on Hylands to have another solid season and raise them to new heights.
