Vacation spots around the VHL

When going to different cities to face off against VHL teams, New York Americans defense-woman Chicken Wing has a number of specific spots in and around those cities where she loves to spend an afternoon, weekend, or even a few days. To celebrate VHL theme week centered around vacationing, here are some of the highlights:

Toronto - Only a little over an hour away from the Legion’s home arena is one of the seven wonders of the world, Niagara Falls, which makes an amazing place to visit. It is always nice to go look at the falls, as well as spending some time on Clifton Hill with the many attractions and also the Falls view Casino, as she sometimes gets the urge to gamble. 

 

Los Angeles - There are many beautiful beaches here in Los Angeles, and it can't get any better then sitting on the beach with a martini in her hand for Wing. This is actually the go-to place to vacation for her in the off-season, as it was a tradition started by her and some old teammates to go at least once a year. As an avid sports fan, she also loves catching a Lakers game from time to time.

Vancouver - Very close to where the Wolves play is the city of Victoria, which hosts a sand castle festival every year which she finds very cool. On the island of Victoria, and in most of British Columbia, there are many sea creatures you can go see and even swim with! Not to mention the amazing salt water ocean that is an amazing natural exfoliator for your skin!

 

Warsaw - Poland is Chicken Wing’s favorite place to visit in the whole world, as she originally hails from the Warsaw region. While playing road games against the Predators, she enjoys visiting her family for the most part, as well as being back in her culture with the amazing food, architecture, and many parks.

 

New York - This big city of tall buildings and big businesses makes it a wonderful place to go on a shopping spree. With Chicken Wing currently living here as a member of the local New York Americans, it is hard for her to save money as there's always new workout equipment she needs to keep her in shape or a pretty new hockey stick that catches her eye in store. This is a great place to live, as there's always new things to see in this big city.

Japan - Although Japan is not a place that currently has a VHL or VHLM team, this is one place that Wing has always wanted to visit. This is a gorgeous place, especially in the spring when the cherry blossom trees are blooming, a picnic outside with the interesting Japanese snacks and awesome scenery would be a great vacation away from VHL and hockey training. 

 

While there are fun spots to vacation in almost every city, these spots are just some among the many that Chicken Wing prefers the most when traveling, and she loves that being a part of the VHL brings her back on road trips all the time. Happy theme week!
