The season is over, finished and once again the Legion fall outside the playoffs. This really is no surprise after the Legion traded away two important players at the start of the season in order for the locker room to improve. It was the right move as the locker room is now one of the most joyful in the entire league and has become known as the "social club". Hextall loves the new life in the locker room "It's very refreshing, in some of my earlier years here their were seasons where there was very little talk, very little positivity. It's energized me to go out and play my best game!" That's great to hear from the veteran goal tender but what we are here to talk about is the end of season stats for the Canadian net minder.

 

This season had career highs and lows for him. His record is 26-30-7, that is less wins than what he had in his rookie season and the most losses in regulation he's ever had, he had 7 overtime or shootout losses which all adds up to the most total losses he's had in one season at 37, one more than his rookie campaign. His save percentage was .919 which is second best ever, only slightly lower than his last season of .920. Goals against average was 2.94, a good improvement over his last season numbers of 3.19, it is still his third worst GAA though in his six seasons. Hextall managed to get two shutouts this season which put him perfectly at 20 career shutouts. Two is tied for the lowest he's gotten in one season, season 74 being the other time where he only got two. This was Jaxx's best season in terms of goals allowed, only 179 getting past him, 3 less than his season 71 and 72 campaigns of 182. This is likely in part due to playing about 200 less minutes than what he normally would. 3648 is the least amount of minutes he has spent in the net in one season, last season he had a career high of 3888. Despite the 200-ish less minutes he still faced as many shots as you might expect, 2203 in total.
