  1. Noah's fucked. Morgan's just around the corner and there was other news that popped up recently that made it obvious. That said, Father Gabriel is irrelevant really. He's notable right now but if they follow the comics, once they hit Alexandria he's going to disappear almost entirely. TBH I think part of it was that Tyreese had just run his course -- at least in his show incarnation. I hoped they were gonna flip the script and make him the one-armed badass like Rick in the comics, but he just wasn't willing to do the dirty work. If you asked me two years ago if Sasha would outlive Tyreese I wouldn't have believed you, but here we are.
  2. That's funny because he's a much better player when he's there according to everyone else on the planet.
  3. I can't really decide between it and Whiplash right now. Birdman is so unique to anything I've ever watched, but Whiplash was just really really fucking good. Also: J.K. Simmons.
  4. Birdman was weird. But I liked it. The cinematography was fantastic, the music was cool, and Keaton + Norton + Stone gave great performances.
  5. http://www.slashfilm.com/neill-blomkamp-alien-movie/ FUCKING DO IT, BLOMKAMP. Yes and no to your points about Spider-Man. People weren't excited about the rumours of Sony rebooting Spider-Man again on their own. Rebooting the character -- soft reboot or otherwise -- to bring him into the MCU is a whole other matter. The fans are pretty divided over Andrew Garfield being out, but it's an acceptable casualty to get Spidey into the MCU. Additionally, Marvel has said now that they aren't concerned about origin stories, many of the characters are going to debut in other movies and then carry over to their own individual flicks. For example, Black Panther is appearing in Civil War before he goes off to do his own movie. The key here is that Spidey and his rogues gallery are now available to crossover into other MCU films, and vice versa. Spidey plays a big role in the comic Civil War, but I expect it to be much smaller if he is in the film. He also has some villain crossover with Doctor Strange, so he could appear there. Overall, it's much better than Sony's plans of trying to squeeze a massive cinematic universe out of the Spider-Man property alone. As for X-Men... Keep it separate IMO. You'd need a total reboot as Fox's universe is incredibly different tonally, and Marvel is trying to pull back on the presence of that group in their overall universe. Fox isn't really willing to play ball either, and the wheels are already turning on the Inhumans effectively replacing them in the MCU. I'd rather get Fantastic Four back from them because of Galactus, Silver Surfer, and Doctor god damn Doom. The villains attached to the F4 license are way more important than the group itself.
  6. If Marvel gets their way and nabs Logan Lerman I won't even care. I'm just so happy that Spidey gets to play with everyone else now.
  7. Imma just sit here, lol, try to forget about the game, and party because SPIDEY IS IN THE MCU NOW BITCHES
  8. SPIDEY IS COMING HOME MOTHER FUCKERS http://marvel.com/news/movies/24062/sony_pictures_entertainment_brings_marvel_studios_into_the_amazing_world_of_spider-man
  9. Torts ran Dutch Gretzky outta two cities. Fucking awful coach.
  10. Sort of, but they've been two of the few that consistently bring a good effort.
  11. I'm not super-lore-nerd-crazy like a lot of the guys on Reddit, but The Hobbit just frustrated me because it lost so much of the magic and became so damn bloated. I was of the same mindset originally with Tauriel, but with the fact she just disappears at the end... Completely pointless. They argued her purpose was to add a strong female character in an all-male cast but like you said, in the end she was only there for a love triangle.
  12. I didn't hear anything about a fight, but apparently Matthias and Weber got into it a bit.
  13. My dad read The Hobbit (and the LOTR) to me when I was a little kid, so they've got a special place in my heart. The Hobbit as a trilogy was just so disappointing for me.
  14. That game last night was a damn good time. Was at the game with Brandon, totally made up for the game on Thursday that I was also at. That said, why the heck can't the Canucks play like that more often?
  15. I'm able to do both. Sure, it can be difficult to shut off the analytical side of things to just enjoy a movie, but at this point I have too much knowledge of film to be able to completely dismiss stuff. Even when I go and marathon horror movies in October, I'm aware of the fact that a lot of the movies I'm watching are actually kind of shitty. But I'm able to enjoy them for other reasons, or sit back and purely focus on the actual film making merits of the movie.
  16. Little distractions for things that I am passionate about are very much welcome right now.
  17. If you knew what I was going through right now you wouldn't get on my case about menial shit like that.
  18. 1 and 2 took a ton of liberties with the story, but 3 absolutely butchered it. Overused, mediocre CGI, nonsensical plot, god awful writing ("if this is love, I do not want it. Take it away, please. Why does it hurt so much?" --- "because it was real" --- FUCK THAT SHIT), fucking love triangle, fucking ALFRID, they cut away at the part of the battle that was actually what people were waiting for (Beorn and the Eagles), and suddenly, when we get to the end of the movie... OH NOW LETS FOCUS PURELY ON BILBO AND NOT HAVE ANY CLOSURE FOR ANYONE ELSE. Either make Bilbo the focus the entire way through or you gotta give all the characters some kind of closure. It is the only time I have ever left a theater angry. I've left disappointed, but never angry. Until The Battle of the Five Armies.
  19. I did for a bit. It's improved on the last beta but still isn't particularly good IMO. Gun handling feels really off and the Heist game mode is really shitty.
  20. Shinkaruk hasn't done too well in the AHL this season, he missed all of last year so he needs time to get used to the pro level. McCann is a ways off and is still in the OHL, and Virtanen is still in the WHL.
  21. Everyone except the Sedins, Horvat, Dorsett, Vrbata, Edler, Corrado and Tanev should be up for grabs off the Canucks current roster right now. Fuck this mediocre team bullshit and fuck the playoffs. Go for the higher pick and actually rebuild already, there's no elite talent in the system to replace the Sedins so we're in for a few years of darkness anyways.
  22. It's a bit of a clusterfuck because our team is basically the Sedins, Vrbata, then a bunch of third lines. I guess you'd set it up as Sedin - Bonino - Richardson - Horvat - Vey for the time being, but Vey is playing mostly on the wing these days.
  23. Potato King strikes again.
