I'm curious... How was it predictable?
-
Source please? There's no way in hell that Henrik, Horvat, Kassian, and Kenins have worse possession numbers than Dorsett. Horvat's overall Corsi may not be great, but when he's with Kenins they're both somewhere around 53%. Henrik and Kassian are two of the only players who have consistently been over 50% this season. EDIT: Per this article (only five days old) the Dorsett-Horvat-Hansen line was at 42.2% on Corsi. With Kenins in that spot, they're 54.5%. Other line deployments show Sedin-Sedin-Kassian running at 61.2% right now, and Richardson's lines are breaking even at 50%.

I didn't once compare him to Vey. I said they were both the worst possession players on the team, that's it. Saying that possession doesn't matter is fucking foolish, by the way. Having the puck > not having the puck. Even if you aren't scoring, it means the other team doesn't have the god damn puck. I will guarantee that everyone on the team has better possession numbers away from Dorsett than they do with him. Notice that the team's that tend to do well in terms of puck possession are kind of winning a lot of hockey games. He's a solid 4th line energy guy, yeah. He doesn't fit anywhere but there, and are you going to try and fuck with that line as it is right now? The thing is, when the team is healthy there are 12 guys I would rather have playing than Dorsett most nights. Higgins, Burrows, and Hansen are all better two-way forwards than Dorsett. While I agree that would make one or two of them expendable via trade, they are better players. Having Dorsett chasing the puck around, hitting things, and taking dumb penalties doesn't really help score goals. Y'know, the point of the sport?

He had a very good game. I'd love for him to play like that more often. Unfortunately he (along with Vey) are the worst possession players on the team by a long shot, and as we saw against LA he's prone to taking bad penalties. Again, if he plays like that all the time then you just can't take him out.

The line of Kenins, Horvat, and Hansen is a god damn thing of beauty. Ronnie Kannons and Bo Scorevat (yes, deal with it) have got some serious chemistry.

Everyone but Miller is back tomorrow! That's going to be interesting. Sedin - Sedin - Kassian Matthias - Bonino - Vrbata Higgins - Richardson - Burrows Kenins - Horvat - Hansen Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Bieksa Sbisa - Corrado Please dear god let those be the lines. No more Vey or Dorsett.

What overreactions were there? I simply said "lolcanucks", they put out a pretty poor effort. The only other remarks were that the Kings seem to have Vancouver's number and "of course LA has to win". Neither of these are massive reactions of any kind.

Uhhhh definitely not.

Not a huge fan of the lyrics, probably a large part of the reason why this is a digital release instead of the lead single. But my fucking god, DAT RIFF. <3

Hey, I'm not alone! I honestly really enjoyed the game. There are plenty of flaws, but I adore the world that has been crafted, the story wasn't anything special but kept me engaged, the production values blow pretty much anything else out of the water, the feedback on the weapons is incredible, and the epilogue had me dying for more. Highlight for spoilers: YOU'RE STEAMPUNK BATMAN WITH NICOLA TESLA AS YOUR ALFRED, HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?

Apparently Tron 3 is being filmed in Vancouver this Fall. Pretty damn happy about that, I loved Legacy.

No, but you can for refusing to accept a trade to everywhere but one team, a division rival no less.

First of, he wasn't a god. Not even close. You want to talk about a "god" in the Vancouver market and the only answer is Trevor Linden. The Sedins too when they retire. Second, Kesler was always a piece of shit. It was just swept under the rug because he had a few years as an elite two-way forward on a team that was primed to take a run at the Stanley Cup. For all his bitching and moaning about the media in this town -- and they do suck -- Kesler was pretty much left alone. The blame went everywhere but to him. He was excused for not having top six caliber wingers or battling through injury or blah blah blah. He had it easy compared to the Sedins, Luongo, etc. The first season where things truly went sour, he decided to jump ship. Just like that. There's a reason Bieksa commented so soon afterwards saying he was "going down with the ship". Kesler had been stripped of his 'A' earlier in the season and the leadership of the team wanted nothing to do with him and his attitude anymore. He bragged around in Sochi about how he wanted out, then denied requesting a trade for months. He limited management to three teams: Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Anaheim. When a deal wasn't done at the deadline, he pulled Pittsburgh off the list. Chicago was never interested. Anaheim was the only play he'd waive for and they're a division rival. The Canucks were forced to effectively take three quarters for a dollar to facilitate his wishes, and not even an hour later he's on TSN talking shit about the Canucks and how happy he is to move on. Ryan Kesler is a fucking prick and now that he no longer has the Canucks logo on his chest, he has absolutely no protection from people in Vancouver calling him on it. It was the same in Anaheim before he was a Duck, and it'll be the same in any other city he may play in for the remainder of his career.

It seems a few people were mentioned specifically, along with /r/hockey and /r/canucks as a whole. I was one of those few people.
-
The issue is they were pretty comfortable in 2nd in the division and have risked pissing that away. Another late season collapse is not a good thing.

Umm... Pretty much in shock right now. One of the Canucks fans I talked with a lot on Reddit had been missing for 20 days, and we just got news from his mother tonight that he took his own life two weeks ago. He battled depression almost his entire life, and I knew he was going through an especially difficult time of late so I was really worried that we would hear this. He mentioned me specifically in his note... I'm just stunned...
