  1. I always just use this website. If you're on a computer, it's really easy to just copy and paste it: https://wordcounter.net/ Add some pictures and make it look professional, then you'll probably get a 8/8. Just look at the other ones for examples. okay great thanks !
  2. over 3 and a half minutes on the PP and I couldn't get a point. Need to pick up my play
  3. My joining coincides with our first losses. Hopefully that changes.
  4. and it was a primary assist to boot
  5. After being picked up off waivers by the Lynx, Flip Rodriguez would like to have a Q & A to let you guys know a little about him and his play. Please ask any questions you may have, personal or professional. (I'll be creating a Media Spot with this but it will probably be done for next week.) Felipe enters the Lynx locker and is greeted by a barrage or reporters sticking their microphones in his face. "One at a time please," he says," I'm all yours for the next little while." DollarAndADream asks: What kind of player do you expect to be when you enter the VHL? I would like to QB a potent power play unit. That's where I feel my skills are best suited. Top 4 defenseman, maybe not immediately, depending on what team I end up on. I will have to earn my spot no matter where I play though. Keeps me motivated to get better every game, every day. How do you expect the Ottawa Lynx to do this season? I know we have hit a bit of a rough patch recently but I fully expect s to turn it around. I can probably play a little better to help with the turnaround. When we do figure it out, other teams better watch out! We will be back on top soon enough. We'll string together several wins here and there and close out the season on a strong note I hope. I predict we'll make it to the championship at the very least, if we don't win it all. Do you have hall of fame VHL players, or current VHLers that you look up to for motivation? I'm not actually very familiar with the VHL players, current or Hall of Fame. I haven't been around here very long yet to know who is in the Hall of Fame. Are you a goal scorer, or more of an assist type of character? I like to try and get a lot of shots on goal so whether that results in more assists from rebounds and deflections or more goals, we'll have to wait and see. Ask me again in a few months and we'll see what my stat line says. How vocal have you been, or are you in your locker room? Since I am fairly new, I am still trying to get used to the league, used to the locker room, used to my new team so I haven't been very vocal yet. Once I get used to my new surroundings I'll speak up when needed. Do you think you have what it takes to be a captain in the future? Absolutely, as I said, I am still getting used to my new surroundings. I hope my play will speak for itself at times where I'm not necessarily very vocal. I like to lead by example, not by screaming at everyone around me. Is Byfuglien your spirit animal? I wish! I don't have the physical game he brings, not even close! Plus, he's got about 6 or 7 inches and 80 pounds on me. Maybe if I hit a late growth spurt. Ahma asks: Have you enjoyed the VHL so far? Yes, very much so, it has been a warm welcome from everyone. Everyone has been very helpful and given great suggestions. I couldn't ask for a better league to be a part of. Reporter asks: Is there a particular reason you chose number 55? My grand father was born in 1955 in Guadalajara. He was very important to me when I was growing up. He taught my father how to be a man and my father taught me. Everything I know I learned from them. My grand father didn't have much growing up but he made the most of it. That's probably why I'm pretty humble now even with the success I had in the Liga Mexicana Elite. Unfortunately, he passed away just a few months ago. It has been a very tough time for me and my family. (577 words excluding questions from other users.)
  6. How do they figure the word count on these? I'm on mobile so have no way of checking myself.
  7. Felipe "Flip" Rodriguez D.O.B.: March 11, 1997 Age: 18 Birthplace: Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX Height: 72" (6' 0") Weight: 189 lbs Career Statistics: 2011-2012 (Liga Mexicana Elite): 12 GP - 1 G - 3 A - 20 SOG - 7 Hits - 16 Blocked Shots 2012-2013 (Liga Mexicana Elite): 12 GP - 3 G - 7 A - 26 SOG - 8 Hits - 18 Blocked Shots 2013-2014 (Liga Mexicana Elite): 12 GP - 6 G - 8 A - 31 SOG - 8 Hits - 19 Blocked Shots 2014-2015 (Liga Mexicana Elite): 12 GP - 10 G - 8 A - 45 SOG - 9 Hits - 26 Blocked Shots Felipe Rodriguez comes into the VHLM as a slightly undersized defenseman but what he lacks in size he makes up for in hockey IQ. He's not going to punish anyone with a big hit but that's not to say he isn't physical, just not in the typical sense. He would rather poke the puck away than try to make an open ice hit. He's not afraid to lay down and block a shot. As his stats suggest, as he got more games under his belt, he vastly improved his game on both offense and defense. He's got a great shot from the point and has the hands to join in on the rush which can sometimes cause him to get caught out of position. His conditioning is out of this world, he can credit that to his years of playing soccer, or futbol. Overall, good defenseman, great offensive skill set. With some work and/or mentoring can become a great defenseman for years to come. Pros: Flip is a very good athlete who possesses a very strong and accurate shot from the point. He has great hockey sense on both sides of the puck as well as great offensive positioning. His puck handling rivals some forwards in his class. Definitely an offense-first minded D-man but that's not to say he is incapable of playing defense. Flip is very fast to the puck and great at creating turnovers. He is not afraid to make a hit but he would rather finesse you off the puck. His road to the VHLM was not an easy one but he toughed it out, mental toughness is off the charts with this kid. Keep in mind that Flip is only 18 years old but has been playing the last few years against grown men. He was able to keep up in the Liga Mexicana Elite so as he matures, he should eventually turn into a star. His youth and eagerness to contribute and learn are going to help him on his way. Oh, and 2 words: Power Play. That is where he will shine brightest once he figures his game out at the next level. Cons: Flip Rodriguez is not going to get many hits. His physical game is mediocre at best. Not the strongest player at this level. Also, not a very big sample size as seasons in the Liga Mexicana Elite are very short. Not much high level competition in the Liga Mexicana Elite either. Has been known to take bone-headed penalties in games. His eagerness to join the rush can sometimes lead to odd man rushes the other way. Undersized, will need to bulk up to keep up in the VHLM and beyond. Projections: Felipe projects to be a future top pair d-man, probably top 4 early on in his career. Should be playing the point on the power play right away as that is what his skill set lends itself to. Instant upgrade for any team putting him at the point in their first power play uniit.
