  1. by expanding the VHLM to 14 teams, you are not going to increase the prospect pool, but instead hopefully spread the prospect pool hopefully evenly among the teams. This will also encourage active GMs to try and monitor waiver wire and the inactives. Though in-active, the players can still prove to be an asset to a team. This expansion will also increase the price of players and draft picks cutting down on the number of picks that teams should be able to acquire for a cup run. This will also hopefully keep players active as most people like to see their player get first line minutes despite maybe not making a cup run.
  2. What if we have a rather large draft class one year? and so all the in-actives go into fa? what if they come back? what determines in-activity and activity?
  3. By adding 4 or 6 more teams to 14 or 16 we can move evenly distribute the number of draftees per team, and therefore the teams that might be competing every season. And that is the point. We wont have enough members for each team to have two full lines. That way we have players playing first line minutes elsewhere and that makes them happy (Percy Miller). No one wants to be playing 3rd line minutes on a team, cup or no cup.. I do agree 20 teams is way too much, but is 14? the only thing i do not know how would work is the sim engine..

  5. if we added lets say 5 more teams, wouldnt the number of players per roster drop dramatically? there isnt enough actives to load up on 15 teams.. that way the teams are much closer together in overall talent. Through adding teams, you also fix the issue of firsts.. there wont be enough assets to to trade to acquire 10/15 of the first rounds (Turku had like 5 of the 10 first rounders this past draft right?).. you would be lucky to acquire 4/15 first rounders imo. It would also allow more people who want to become GMs become GMs which will increase activity. my vote is for an expansion to the VHLM and if the VHL deems it a good idea, maybe expand them too..

  16. +1 - Seeing all these guys ahead of me in TPE made me want to beat them. Could you imagine a 1st gen beating a recreate in TPE? i really wanted to get drafted 1st overall in both drafts, and so I was/am very active and trying to get the most TPE I could. Honestly, I think goalies and players should have different rules because a player can get 4th line minutes every game, but they are still getting minutes. Goalies? not so much. Im putting my support behind Awful
  17. when reading this i saw that there was an issue about recreates having a large amount of TPE right from the start. This issue has been brought up before, and new recruits have expressed how annoying it is to have re-creates completely out do them in TPE from day 1. So here is what i propose: I still believe the recreates should get the TPE they receive for recreating they should be rewarded for their time and dedication to the league and their continuation through a recreate TPE is not immediately awarded to the recreate. You do not start off your VHLM career with the TPE, but u start out with the 0 TPE like everyone else You play your first season in the VHLM as any other recruit. You must play 72 games (total = 1 season) in the VHL before you can claim the TPE for being a recreate. I feel like this has more of a psychological impact on new recruits and levels the playing field for VHLM. Thoughts?

  19. ah okay.. ya thats super important.. if something is too confusing or requires too much, ppl lose interest.. i try chatting to new recruits as soon as they join.. that way i can keep them active and into it. Just for example, with Darren Sharp (a new guy), as soon as i saw he was new and online, i immediately started talking with him, helped him get a player created and started, and i opened myself up for any questions he had now or in the future. i think if we just linked the mags to our recruitment posts, it would help

Facebook and Twitter arent gonna really work because many times i feel that people have to be actively searching to find it on those two social medias I think bringing back ex-players is something big that we should try to focus on more.. we (the commissioners) have the emails for the people, so why not send something to them to hopefully generate their interest again. I plan to do this with a few of my inactives (i got there emails from the commissioners). New recruits, however, are also important so we should not lose focus on them either. Onboarding? VHLM Mag and VHL Mag are something I really enjoy to read and look at. It is so cool and can definitely be used as a recruiting tool.
