  1. 1. I went about where I expected. I wasnt able to be online during the draft, I think I missed an opportunity to go a couple picks earlier, but it was cool to have people sending me messages asking how I would like to join their team. 2. I expect us to be competitive in the league, and push hard to do well in the playoffs 3. I think we had a great draft, it is looking like the lines we have so far as well as our goaltender are going to strong 4. I could us having a good rivalvry with the other SW US team, Vegas 5. I think my player will have a really good year of developing as the 2nd line centre, and perhaps next year move up to the first line. 6. Edgar looks like hes going to be a beast for us this year
  2. 1. Id like to think of myself as an excellent scorer, with great defensive upside. I have a great shot and am great at getting into dangerous scoring areas, but I am also hard on the backcheck and play as defenisively responsible as possible. One think I could work on is my leadership skills, but I think that that is something that will come with age/experience. 2. As a Canadian player, I am somewhat partial to one of the Canadian teams, but other than that not really. 3. Points wise Id like to hit 20 goals and 30 points, and continue to evolve as a great 2 way centreman. Id also like to strenghten up a bit and work on my checking. 4. Being a first round pick would be pretty cool, i think i could handle the pressure well. 5. Being able to actually put TPE into specific areas is pretty cool. I also like the different ways of earning TPE Not a problem, I thought they were pretty fair questions. Thanks!
  3. Scotty BigShotty, an up and coming centreman into the VHLM is here to answer any questions the press may have...
  4. Scotty BigShotty Position: C Age: 18 Height: 6'0" Weight: 195 Hometown: Calgary, Alberta Comparison: Mark Scheifele Scotty is a dynamic centreman who has a knack for scoring, while also doing his best to remain defensively responsible. Starting as a 16 year old with the WHL's Victoria Royals, he had a rough first half of the season, but picked up his game in the latter half of the year and continued strong into his draft year. This past season he had a respectable 50 goal and 75 point season, raising his draft stocks dramatically. Strengths Scoring - As shown in his last WHL year with his 40 goals, Scotty excels at driving open lanes and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. He has a lethal wrister from around the faceoff circles, and if you give him any room he will create a high danger chance. He also doesn't shy away from going to the hard areas around the net to score a greasy one every once in a while. Teams generally try to key on him, which opens up his linemates for opportunities. Puck Handling - Scotty is an excellent puck handler, and once he gets control its extremely hard to wrestle it off him. He is extremely strong on his stick, and uses that strength to keep the puck during battles down low and then cycle the puck back up to his teammates. He's also not afraid of breaking out the dangles to make a defender/goalie look silly. Defensive IQ - On top of being a prolific scorer, Scotty prides himself on his defensive responsibility. He always makes an effort to be the first forward back on the backcheck to try and limit odd man rushes as much as possible. He is great at using his strength on his stick to create turnovers in the defensive zone to start moving the puck back up the ice, and is always looking to make the smart play. He is fairly risk averse when it comes to the breakout, and will usually go for the smart pass or up off the glass rather than trying to force things up the middle. Weaknesses Fighting - While Scotty is rather strong on the puck, he is definitely not a fighter. He doesn't mind mixing things up a bit in scrums, but if anyone challenges him to a serious fight he will back down. Not worth the risk of breaking his knuckles while getting his ass beat. Checking - One area Scotty definitely needs to work on is his checking. If he is to succeed in the VHLM, he will have to leverage his size and strength in order to create turnovers, rather than his stick. He has in the past put himself in vulnerable positions while receiving hits as well, and in a league playing against men he will be at a greater risk to get hurt, and will need to learn to position himself better to avoid injury. Leadership - Scotty is a rather shy guy when it comes to group settings, and doesn't really speak up a ton during group meetings. He'd would rather lead by example on the ice than with his voice. As he ages and grows into his role as a pro player, he will need to come out of his shell and show some personality in order to be more successful in the league.
