  2. Talib Finalizes Split from Hockey The story that never should have even made the news has reached its end. Victor Talib, the 5-star recruit out of high school for football, basketball, and track, stunned the sports world a couple months ago when announcing he would take his athletic prowess to the world of hockey. The inexplicable decision dominated headlines for weeks, but the hockey leagues never truly got their grasp on Talib. It seemed as if the decision was more a publicity stunt than anything, as despite his promises to become a legend at the sport, there is no actual proof of him ever training on the ice. Hockey showed no interest in Talib as management was smart enough to realize skill and experience matter, while simultaneously Talib showed no interest in hockey as he never made efforts to improve at the game. Fans grew bored watching the meaningless and uneventful storyline of Talib entering the rink, and were not even slightly shocked when he declared a return to his actual talent in other sports. However, at the time, Talib seemed to keep the path for a return a possibility. That's over now. In a recent correspondence with him and his agency, the question of whether he would ever pursue a VHL career was met with an insightful answer of "Nah." When followed up with why, he simply answered, "I just really don't know anything about hockey. Most of the individual people I met in the league seemed alright, but the overall vibe and sport just never clicked with me. No shame for fans of the sport. It's just I didn't even know how to skate when I said I'd do hockey and it's time to stop the nonsense." Nonsense is correct, and this tired story can finally be put to rest. *302 words
  3. Talib Returns to His Roots Here at Engine News Network, we just recently received a direct statement from star athlete Victor Talib regarding his hockey career. In an interview covered by our network about a month ago, Talib announced his random decision to pursue a professional hockey career, despite being a football, basketball, and track star. Here is his statement: "So I'm sure you guys remember when I made my switch to hockey. At the time I made the decision believing it would be a fun challenge and that I would be able to find success in the sport. I'm still confident that I could become a hockey legend, but a variety of factors have led me to accept a scholarship and go back to the sports I'm already great at. My original thought that hockey would be a challenge is true, however, the fun part was not. It's not that hockey is a bad sport - it's just I really don't know a damn thing about it. It's hard to motivate yourself to practice for hours for something you don't love, and I just haven't had the history and experience with hockey to fully embrace the sport. The biggest reason though, was that I remembered about real life priorities. It was selfish of me to even consider pursuing a career I felt would be fun over one I could be successful at. I put my own personal excitement ahead of the struggle of my single mom who raised me. I need to make money as soon as possible to help her out, and then I can start exploring new sports. So who knows? Maybe one day I'll return to the hockey league and become the great I know I can become... but for now this is going to be it."
  4. All-Around Athlete Talib Makes Decision to Pursue Professional Hockey Victor Talib was a star high school athlete in a variety of sports. He dominated the football field in the fall, turned heads on the basketball court all winter, and would break records on the track each spring. So it would come as a surprise to many when the prized recruit suddenly made the switch to the rink. In a short exclusive interview, Talib revealed what motivated him to switch cleats for skates. Talib: "The question I've been hearing all summer since I made my decision is: why hockey? And to be honest, I can't really tell you the truth. I know nothing about the sport. Never played a minute in a hockey game, never even really watched professional matches. And I think that all together is why I wanted so badly to go pro in the sport. I love challenges. I'm motivated to be great in whatever I do. So the idea of stepping into the cold world of hockey just appealed to me. Do I know what's next for me? Absolutely not. And in that sense, I need some help. In basketball the plan was attend whatever school I wanted, same with football and track. But man, I don't even know how the hockey leagues work. So whether it's a developmental league, college, or straight to the pros, I just hope that my reputation as a hard worker in other sports is enough to get my hockey career started."
  5. Thanks for all the welcomes! I do have some questions. I came here from SBA, and tbh don't know anything about hockey. So when I was making my build I was kind of just eyeballing based on what I felt would work. Do you see any glaring issues with what I created?
