  1. 1. I dont think it’s much of a surprise, i believe this team can achieve much. 2. Yeah, our team has enough skill and chemistry to contribute on offense 3. They are born leaders, nothing else i can say. 4. Both, but i prefer blocked shots since it gets the team pumped and might save a goal. 5. Yeah, i have been doing those 6. I just prefer staying home and meeting friends and family
  2. 1. I dont believe in chances. All i believe is hard work and dedication. Results vary from that 2. I dont really think about that, just trying to achieve as much as i can 3. I think we are currently more offensive 4.Everything has the same level of importance. Of course i like to see the ice well, so ill go with offensive vision. 5. 58-9-5 no problem 6. I always have wanted to learn to play instruments, but havent got the time for that
  3. 1. I dont know really, it could go either way, but i know that the boys will give it all 2. Fantastic. Nothing else i can comment 3. It will be tough. 4. I havent been here for long, but i feel comfortable here so yeah youre doing great 5. Just to keep working 6. Back home really popular is chocolate ice cream, but i dont really like it that much, i always choose vanilla.
  4. 1. Yeah, adding these players was great. They are contributing already. We can help by welcoming them 2. I dont rank games, every single one is as important. 3. I would work on offense and contributing points. 4. I think mostly TPE and activity so far 5. Just talking a lot and maybe getting to know eachother more 6. #70, i used to wear 7, but 70 is my idols number so i switched it up
  5. Overall i think the text was really simple and easy to read, but maybe a little bit too simple, Firstly it gets a bit too repetitive. Certain themes and phrases are repeated, which can make the text feel redundant. Secondly the dialogue between Drosmis and his father is quite basic and could be more engaging or reflective of their characters and relationship. The text also feels lack of realism, there arent any obstacles in Drosmis life mentioned or anything, therefore the text is not as engaging for the reader as it could be. Otherwise great 7/10
  6. 1. As i havent been in the VHLM for too long, my best memory is probably when i created my first character in this leauge. 2. We would make the new player feel welcome by winning every game. 3. I think its normal for the top teams to be way better than the bottom, so i dont think anything needs to be fixed. 4. Oh, a hot headed coach 100%. The adrenaline you can have while having that type of a coach. 5. I think Liepaja, Latvia. As its a great city, and close to home. 6. Yes, i have gone in to a routine before games. In warmups i try to look intimidating to the other team so they get scared, and also so people make edits of me
  7. Hello, I'm Laimdots Sarkanis (i know you read that wrong) Im a 23-year-old hockey player from Latvia, currently pursuing my passion in the VHLM with the Mississauga Hounds. My journey in hockey started early, inspired by my father. Alongside my brother Drosmis, I spent countless hours on the ice in Riga, a city known for its love of hockey and strong sports history. I play as a left winger. My style is about strategy and creating scoring chances. Growing up, I learned leadership skills as captain of my junior team in Riga, where I discovered how to motivate teammates and stay calm under pressure. These experiences shaped not only my playing styl but also my character, preparingn me for higher levels of competition. Joining the Mississauga Hounds in the VHLM has been an exciting step. In my first three games, I've contributed with a goal and two assists. Each game presents new challenges, from thrilling wins to tough losses, including a close overtime defeat D:. These early games are helping me to adjust to the speed and intensity of North American hockey which i am not used to at all, while showcasing my skills on a bigger stage. Off the ice, I've found a welcoming community in Mississauga. The city's strong hockey culture and supportive envoirnment have made settling in easier. I have already spent some time with my teammates at some restaurants and bars, i like it here already and i hope we can grow our bond greatly. With dedicated teammates and experienced coaches, I'm constantly improving my game and learning the nuances of VHLM play. The competitive environment motivates me to strive for success and eventually reach the Victory Hockey League, where I hope to represent Latvia internationally. VHL has been my goal since birth. I have had many idols from VHL and have shaped my skills around them. Beyond personal goals, I'm driven by a desire to inspire Latvian hockey. The support from fans back home fuels my determination to succeed and raise awareness of Latvian talents in the global hockey scene. Every game in the VHLM is a chance to showcase what Latvian players can achieve and contribute to our sport's growth worldwide. Looking ahead, my focus remains on helping the Mississauga Hounds succeed while continually developing as a player. The VHLM season is a stepping stone towards my dream of playing in the VHL and competing at the highest levels. With scouts watching, each game is an opportunity to prove myself and demonstrate readiness for the next levels of competition. As I embark on this exciting phase of my career, I carry the lessons from my upbringing in Latvia and the support of those who guided me. This journey is just beginning, and I'm determined to leave a lasting impact in hockey, proudly representing Latvia with passion and dedication.
  8. In the realm of Latvian hockey, the Sarkanis brothers, Laimdots and Drosmis, have long been names to watch. These two young talents are now ready to make their mark on a bigger stage as they prepare for their debuts in the Victory Hockey League Minors (VHLM). Laimdots, 23, will be lacing up his skates for the Mississauga Hounds, while his 24-year-old brother Drosmis will don the jersey of the Saskatoon Wild. Both are seen as promising prospects, with their sights set firmly on the Victory Hockey League (VHL). Growing up in Riga, Latvia, the Sarkanis brothers were introduced to hockey at a young age by their father, a former professional player. The boys quickly developed a passion for the sport, spending countless hours on the ice honing their skills. Their dedication paid off as they rose through the ranks of youth hockey in Latvia, often playing on the same teams and developing a unique on-ice chemistry. Laimdots, the elder of the two, is known for his exceptional vision and playmaking abilities. Standing at 6'1" and weighing 194 pounds, he combines size with agility, making him a formidable left winger. His hockey IQ and leadership qualities were on full display during his tenure with Riga’s junior team, where he served as captain and led his team to numerous victories. Now, as he joins the Mississauga Hounds, Laimdots is eager to prove himself in the VHLM. “I’ve always dreamed of playing at this level,” Laimdots said in a recent interview. “The competition will be tougher, but I’m ready for the challenge. Mississauga is a great organization, and I’m excited to contribute to the team’s success.” Drosmis, on the other hand, brings a different set of skills to the ice. At 6'3" and 212 pounds, he is a dynamic right winger with a powerful shot and blistering speed. His ability to find the back of the net and create scoring opportunities makes him a valuable asset for the Saskatoon Wild. Like his brother, Drosmis also excelled in Latvia’s junior leagues, earning accolades for his offensive prowess and work ethic. “Playing in the VHLM is a huge step for me,” Drosmis remarked. “I’m looking forward to competing against some of the best young players in the world. Saskatoon is known for developing talent, and I’m confident I can grow as a player here.” The Sarkanis brothers’ journey to the VHLM has been marked by hard work and perseverance. Despite their different playing styles, they share a common goal: to make it to the VHL and represent their homeland on an even larger stage. Their debut season in the VHLM will be a critical test of their abilities and a stepping stone toward their ultimate dreams. Scouts from various VHL teams have already taken notice of the brothers, noting their potential and the impact they could have in the league. With Laimdots and Drosmis both aiming for the VHL Draft, the hockey world will be watching closely to see how they perform this season. As they embark on this new chapter, the Sarkanis brothers carry with them the hopes of Latvian hockey fans and the support of their family. Their story is one of talent, determination, and brotherly bond, and it is only just beginning. Whether they end up on the same VHL team or continue their separate paths, Laimdots and Drosmis Sarkanis are poised to leave a lasting legacy in the world of hockey.

  12. As the plane that i was on landed at the Pearson International Airport, my heart was racing, i was so excited to meet everybody. It was a new page to my hockey career. As i stepped off the plane i felt a cool Canadien breeze, it was super weird, i have never felt this way since it is my first time in Canada. I was greeted by the GM at the airport. As i drove trough the streets of Mississauga i knew that this is gonna be the best place to persuit my dreams. It seemed like the perfect placeplace for me. The next day i drove to the rink dressed up my gear and laced my skates. I met all of my teammates and had my first practice. When i oppened the front doors everybody greeted me, it was great, everyone was super polite. In Latvia i never had this, most people are always grumpy and inpolite there. I like it betterhere. When i stepped on the ice everyone gave me tips and encouraged me, at that moment i understood the Missisauga hockey community is as passioned and suporrtive as i hoped. It was akward at first, but everyone was talking to me, trying to get to know me so it wasnt that bad. After practice i spent some time exploring the city. It's very vibrant here. Each neighbourhood with its own unique charm. The cultural scene captivated me. I attended a concert, went to a restourant. And i made some friends already. About the team. I havent done much research about history so i don't know much. All i know is i like the team colours, the staff, and ofcourse my teammates. The time i will be spending here, i will do my best i promise. I will work on my goals and ofcourse the dream - the VHL I hope i can contribute and progress well too. But i guess we will see that in the future. Off the ice, i have devoted my self to physical conditioning. I have pushed my body to the limits these past few days, i have been sweating through intense workouts that build strenght, endurance. I have worked on my agility aswell since i like to skate quick and fight my way towards the net. In addition i have started to work on my mental aspect, i will sharpen my mental game. I have engaged in sports psychology lessons, i am learning techniques to enhance focus, concentration, and reisilience in high pressure situations. My favorite club growing up was Riga, it still is. After the Hounds of course haha. It would be nice to play there some day, it has been a big inspiration for me since it is my home country club. Anyways i'm really looking forward for the first game of the season. I will work really hard in this last period of the offseason and hopefully it will pay off. Its been very different these past few days, but surely i am gonna get used to this and everythings gonna be alright. Edit: Sorry for bad English. In some spots i used translate
